Having been asked to go skiing with my family, I needed a camera that would be able to handle the unexpected, harsh, cold environment that is the French Alps. Aside from choosing a camera to suit the harsh environment I was going to be in, this camera really stood out for me looks-wise, its quirky design has a slight ‘Transformer’ look about it which I rather like.
Yesterday (Thursday 2nd February 2012) Pentax announced the launch of the Pentax K-01, a mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera that joins the ever-popular Pentax K series. As well as supporting all the Pentax K mount lenses and D-SLR accessories, the K-01 also supports the dedicated XS lenses and comes packaged with an incredibly slim (1cm thick) 40mm F2.8 XS lens to match its design.
On Wednesday 1st February Nikon announced not one, not two, but ten new digital compact cameras to join the well established Coolpix clan! Joining Nikon’s popular Coolpix range are two new P series cameras, four new L series compacts and four new stylish S series cameras.
Since the Fuji X100 was launched to an incredible response over a year ago, the question on many people’s lips has been: when will the X-series add an interchangeable lens camera to its lineup? Well it’s here and it’s more than just an interchangeable lens version of the X100, it’s an impressive camera in its own right.
Yesterday Canon has released 2 NEW compact camera’s to their already well established IXUS range – The Canon IXUS 500 HS (left) and the Canon IXUS 125 HS (right). The two new additions take a new place in the IXUS line up and do not replace any of the current existing models.
