This morning Nikon announced another DSLR camera for 2012: the D5200, which adds to their consumer range of DX-models. This isn’t just a camera for beginners though – with a 24.1 megapixel DX-format sensor and improved autofocus capability, it’s another impressive addition to an already exciting Nikon DSLR range.
Continuing the flurry of pre-Photokina activity, Canon have announced the launch of the EOS 6D! Sitting below the much lauded 5D Mark III in the EOS line-up, this little gem is a more affordable step into full frame photography.
Nikon introduces the D600 to their FX line-up this morning, offering full-frame shooting for serious enthusiasts at a more affordable price and we were lucky enough to get some hands-on time yesterday before its launch. Will it be a game changer?
This morning we see Sony launch their much-anticipated flagship Alpha DSLT model, the A99 as well as three other exciting products: the Sony RX1 full frame compact (yes, you read the right), the Sony VG900 Camcorder (also with a full frame sensor) and the NEX-6 compact system camera.
Bright and early this morning Canon introduced a new beginners-level DSLR to their EOS range, the 650D, as well as 2 new lenses to their line-up – the EF 40mm f2.8 pancake lens and an EF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS lens.
Today’s attention will be on the new D3200, a worthy replacement to the extremely popular entry-level D3100 Digital SLR. This isn’t just a camera for beginners though – with a 24.2 megapixel DX-format sensor and improved ISO range, it’s an exciting addition to an already impressive Nikon DSLR range.
Yesterday Sony introduced the new Sony Alpha A57, the replacement to the Sony A55, and another to incorporate the revolutionary SLT (Single Lens Translucent) technology. Sony has designed the SLT-A57 to appeal to a wide audience of DSLR users, taking on a sophisticated, ergonomic design.

There are bound to be many happy photographers waking up today to the long-awaited announcement of the D800 and D800E this morning. Yesterday we eagerly attended Nikon’s pre-launch preview event and were lucky enough to get our hands on this very exciting new camera.
Yesterday (Thursday 2nd February 2012) Pentax announced the launch of the Pentax K-01, a mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera that joins the ever-popular Pentax K series. As well as supporting all the Pentax K mount lenses and D-SLR accessories, the K-01 also supports the dedicated XS lenses and comes packaged with an incredibly slim (1cm thick) 40mm F2.8 XS lens to match its design.
