Battle lines have been drawn in 2016 already. At CES at the beginning of January Nikon launched the D5, a long-awaited successor to its flagship professional-level DSLR. Now, at the beginning of February, Canon launches the EOS 1D X, a long-awaited successor to its flagship professional-level DSLR.

The two cameras offer a lot of similarities but also a fair amount of differences too, and it’s interesting to put them alongside each other. While the Nikon has the edge in terms of sensitivity, the Canon outstrips it in its burst shooting rate.
