This month’s competition on our Facebook page was titled ‘Leading Lines’ and we had some cracking images. As tricky as it was to whittle the entries down to a shortlist, we (finally) managed to select our favourites before deciding on who should be in first, second and third place. So, without further ado, here are the winners…
In April we launched our first photography challenges over on our Facebook page. The theme was SELECTIVE FOCUS and we had some absolutely stunning entries that made the most of beautiful bokeh, sharp focus and large apertures.
Last year we ran three great competitions to Win Your Dream lens for customers who ordered either the Canon 6D, Nikon D600 or Sony A99 over a particular time period. As soon as 2013 rolled around, we were excited to finally draw the winners and find out which lenses they’d go for…
In last month’s Gallery Competition we set you the energetic theme of ‘Capturing Movement’. There are a number of different techniques and camera settings used to best represent movement, such as panning with the camera or changing the shutter speed.
A path one would not usually take, a new direction in life, or a road that is no longer distinguished as a useable road, there are many meanings to last month’s theme, ‘A road less travelled’.
Whether you’d spotted it in the subtle curls of a fern or the roofs of houses, or maybe you created your own W by painting with light or creatively arranging your photography gear – we were completely blown away by the quality of the hundreds of entries we received!
Last year, the staff here at Wex had a competition running to shoot the best photo of a ‘W’ and you can see some of our results in the image above. So, we want to extend the challenge to you! How would you fancy a brand new Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR camera with 15-85mm IS USM Lens worth £2,399.99? That’s what we’ll be giving away to the person who takes our favourite ‘W’ photo.
Last month we asked you to submit images that best capture the essence of ‘Urban Jungle’ for the WEX Gallery photography competition, with a Canon PowerShot G12 digital camera up for grabs for the first place winner!
The May WEX Gallery competition theme was ‘Call of the Wild’ and I must admit we were pretty excited about seeing some impressive entries. We certainly weren’t disappointed, the quality of images submitted was very high and it was definitely a tricky one to judge.
Finding myself early for a meeting, I went into the town centre in search of a strong coffee. As I entered the town hall square I noticed an advert for an exhibition of photography on show inside the town hall. So I forgot the coffee and headed inside. Now I’m no expert on wildlife images, but I do know a good composition when I see it and believe me, there some very fine photographs on show.
