The 3 Legged Thing X5 Frank Evolution 2 Carbon Fibre Tripod System with AirHed 2 Blue is the most stable tripod in the 3 Legged Thing ultra pro range. Frank is built to take the heaviest of equipment (max load up to 12000g) and remain rigid and stable, whatever the conditions. Frank weighs 1944g and is able to reach as low as 15cm, extend to a maximum height of 168.5cm and closes down to a portable 56cm. This is a very solid feeling tripod. Deceptively light, considering it's size. It's very well engineered and feels like a quality item.
So, not only does it look good, but it gives that tactile pleasure that makes it a pleasure to use.
It provides a very stable and adjustable platform.

The head is easy to use and holds the camera as you'd expect. It's not an Arca, but then you get the legs and head for the same price as just an Arca head.
There are comments on a couple of websites that the "bubble" in the spirit level indicators get stuck. This seems to have been addressed and resolved.

It's close to, if not better than the equivalent Gitzo's that I've had/used before.

It doesn't pack as small as other tripods that may be considered for travel. But the rigidity that you gain from the fewer joints does offset the trade off. Horses for courses

It comes with a very smart bag, (Chicken Lips), and looks the business.

The monopod feature is nice and not at the expence of stability.
