Based on the immensly popular Hadley Original, the Hadley Pro has extra features; a carrying handle, a weatherproof zippered back pocket and the facility to accept AVEA pouches. The camera insert is removeable so one day it can be a roomy, well-equipped camera bag; the next it can double as a business case or a slightly posh beach bag. The Hadley Pro will accomodate A4 files and a small laptop computer. In use, we recommend the flap straps are adjusted to length by using the buckle; the Quick Release System, i.e. the teardrop shaped hole which slips over the brass stud, is used for regular opening and closing. This way you will gain maximum benefit from the Quick Release System. More
We choose the very best materials and use them in a way that takes maximum advantage of their natural properties, then manufacture the product to precise quality standards. That's why Billingham bags have solid brass fittings, top-grain leather, the best threads and fittings we can find - and a reputation to match.
Most of the materials we use are exclusive to us in some way or other: it may be simply their colour, or because of the special manufacturing process they go through and the finishes we apply. When we can't find the exact material we need, we design and commision our own.
As well as working closely with our suppliers to improve each aspect of a material's performance, we also co-operate with them to ensure that every delivery of material into our workshop meets our exacting quality specifications. We are members of SATRA, an international organisation who help us ensure the materials and production methods we use result in the highest quality products. Hard wearing materials can be abrasive and sometimes damage clothing, so our canvas has been chosen to avoid these problems. The Martindale test, shown on the left, is used to test for abrasion resistance.
The UK can be a pretty wet place much of the time, so it isn't surprising that Billingham bags started life being very resistant to rainwater. In a recent Maeser test, pictured on the right, Billingham Stormblock Canvas was first aged and then flexed in water over 100,000 times. There was no sign of water ingress and the canvas was defined as waterproof, so confirming our confidence in the material as suitable for production.
At Billingham, we are always looking for better ways of doing the things we do by improving our materials and processes. Many of our products have been subject to change over time as suppliers have found better ways of doing the things they do.
Our customers demand tougher bags that are also lighter - New and exclusive to Billingham; FibreNyte is recommended to Professional Photographers who need a tough, hard wearing fabric for extreme conditions.
The material is purely synthetic, it has excellent abrasion resistance while remaining supple. We've found a solution that is softer than other man made fabric.
FibreNyte is a high performance, super durable fabric which is bonded to a polyester lining using Billingham StormBlock butyl rubber and weighs 10% less than our traditional canvas.
FibreNyte is more colourfast because the dyes can be bonded to the material more easily. The black stays black and the Khaki stays Khaki.
Offering every benefit of our Traditional Canvas, with advancements suited to modern life and ways of working – FibreNyte.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Original - Khaki / Tan:
Very easy to carry and it does not look like a camera bag which is a big plus. Offers excellent protection for camera and 2 lenses plus extra kit with room left over.

Had a billingham bag 40years ago so I tried out a smaller one and its great
Best bag I have by far!

About Me Semi-pro Photographer
Like most photographers I have tried many, many bags in my lifetime but this is by far the best one I have owned. It has taken my Canon 40D and 4 lenses, including my 70-200 F4. It's obviously heavy will all that which is one of the reasons I am switching my system to an Olympus OM-D which looks like it will go great with this bag.

Stunning to look at and use
I've had my eye on one of these for ages and finally decided to get one. As soon as I opened the packaging I was in love with it. It's extremely well made and very durable, but doesn't compromise on its looks. I can comfortably fit my Nikon D7000, Sigma 10-20mm, Tamron 70-300mm, Nikkor 50mm f1.8 and Nikkor 18-105 inside the main compartment. Then the front 2 pockets have poppers to make them larger if required and they hold enough filters, cleaning accessories and spare batteries easily. Also as the insert can be taken out it makes a great casual bag whilst keeping all your camera gear together. It may seem a bit pricey, but it is going to be a bag to last a lifetime.
About Me Pro Photographer
I use this for OMD + 4-5 lenses, but it works equally well with my nikon full frame kit.

I love this bag, it is a good size for me and easily transportable without being too bulky. I like how it is not an 'obvious' camera bag. It has a lovely classic style.

Canon 5D MkII with fitted battery grip
See all my reviews
Canon 5D Mark II with fitted Battery Grip, will it fit in a Billingham Pro or Large Bag?What can I say its a great bag. I've been using Lowepro bags for ages. My current bag is a Fastpack 350, don't get me wrong, this is a great bag, however I take my camera everywhere and in shops or crowded areas it tends to have the affect of a battering ram. I'm constantly knocking into people or whacking them when I turn around. The Lowepro 350 is great and I will keep using it for carrying lots of gear on long trips. But the Lowepro Battering Ram 350 had to go for everyday trips and around town. For several months I had been trying to find a smaller replacement bag. I didn't want a bag that made me look like a camera geek or train spotter. My first choice was a Lowepro passport sling, but these appear to be rarer than Unicorn c r a p. I had also read several reviews saying it was impossible to fit a pro-camera body in the bag, so this option was out.Having been a fan for DigitalRev TV I was aware of the Billingham Bag range, but no local camera shops held them in stock to try out. After reading hundreds of reviews on line and watching endless videos on Youtube I still couldn't find the answer I needed "Billingham Pro or Large, can you fit a 5D Mark II with a battery grip fitted?"In the end I decided to take the risk and order a Billingham large from Warehouse Express [...] and then test it out, will my camera fit? Answer YES.Despite the Billingham Pro - Large only being 70mm in the width the bag and liner have loads of give allowing the 5D with the grip fitted, and a 25-105mm lens to be loaded with no issues, in fact the camera is almost lost inside the bag. In the large bag you can either load the camera down either side (flush to the bag wall) or in the centre. The bag will stretch out, but its not really noticeable and the padding gives lots of protection. In short these bags will take:Billingham Pro = Canon 5D Mark II with fitted battery grip - 24-105mm sized lens - flash - second lens (not to big) and other random nick-naks. (better to load the camera centrally in the bag)Billingham Pro = Canon 5D Mark II with fitted battery grip - 70 - 200mm sized lens - flash - at least two more lenses and lots of other stuff. (can be loaded anywhere inside the bag)The only downside, and its a small one, is the bag is a little easy to access for someone bag diving. It would be nice to have a zip, but then this would affect the bag size and what you could force in. The lift - pull catches are good and the will fool most thieves, but I'm still a little worried in crowds. I've found the best way around this is to either flip the bag round in a so the opening is towards your body, or just spin the bag to your front, problem solved.I hope this review helps another owner of a 5D with a grip or similar pro-body camera. The Billingham bags are GREAT.

A superb bag, i was looking for a bag to protect my D-SLR and a lens on it plus a spare and some odd accessories. I was also looking for a traditional looking bag that was not too obviously a camera bag and could double up as a general travel bag plus not be too big to carry.this does the job perfectly and looks good. Hihgly recommended.I would also mention how helpful the WE staff were, i visited the showroom and they were great, very patient and helpful. Top team.
