Building on the considerable success of the Esprit Gemini range the Bowens Gemini R range has added many additional and new features unavailable on the original Gemini monolight system. These include a new ‘patented’ twin-dial power control system that offers the
accuracy of digital controls and precision adjustments, with the reliability and simplicity of analogue dials, an optional ‘plug-in’ radio trigger module facility, full Infra-Red remote control capabilities, 7-segment LED display and much more. Ideal as an addition to an existing two head kit the Gemini 250R head comes complete with power lead, sync cord and modelling lamp. More

Versatile light for small studio
About Me Pro Photographer
Comments about Bowens Gemini 250R Head:
I use these exclusively in the studio and find them to be robust and powerful enough to use as secondary lights with my 500 pro. There is plenty of choice of modifiers from Bowens and third-party suppliers that fits the S fitting, which is a big consideration of you're moving systems. Because these do not have internal cooling, some modifiers, especially snoots, get very hot and will need safety warning stickers if you employ people in your studio. Cheap colour gels will just melt.I trigger my main light with a pair of Pocket Wizards and synch the other two via photo cell and get perfect sync every time. The body is designed to be small, possibly to save on materials, so the modelling light protrudes a long way out. This means you have to be very careful when changing modifiers, particularly large soft boxes as you risk cracking the bulb. I usually point the light at the floor before unscrewing the modifier. I've found this to be less of a hassle than expected. I use these lights with the Gemini Remote (see my lament at this on the relevant product page) and find that the combination is not worth the spend. It only just about works.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
