Comments about Canon EF 135mm f2 L USM Lens:

I recently purchased this lens after much deliberation and I was not disapointed. The autofocus is quick the images are very sharp at all stops and I really like the ability of this lens to adjust the min focusing distance. If I have one small dislike, it is the size of the lens hood. It is just too big to easily fit into the camera bag. I will just have to buy a bigger bag.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Canon EF 135mm f2 L USM Lens:

Apparently, this lens has been rated as one of the very best lenses ever produced, in the history of photography. I has also been rated as Canon's best ever lens. So, what more needs to said?
Remember, on an EOS pro-sumer camera, its a 216 mm lens so should you own one of these cameras, for 5.25 times less money, you will have a 200 mm lens that is at least as good as the 200 mm, f2.0 (£4838)
      Sounds good to me!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Canon EF 135mm f2 L USM Lens:

Quite simply the best lens I have ever used, and already my favourite. It knocked my my previous favourite lens (35L f1.4) into second place.

This lens is pin sharp, even wide open. A lens that will never let you down.

I can find fault with every lens I own, except this one.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Forget cars; have a lens mid-life crisis!

        By Doc1

        Pros

        • Excellent quality
        • Fast
        • Sharp

        Cons

        • none

        Best Uses

Comments about Canon EF 135mm f2 L USM Lens:

The EF 135mm f2 is a short telephoto prime. It is parallel to a cross between a luxury and sports' car: high build quality and ease of use, considerable speed and great panache. If only a car like that came at the (very reasonable) price of this lens.

The Canon autofocus is rapid and accurate, the build quality is absolutely excellent - it looks and feels expensive! It is difficult to criticise this extremely fast, f2 lens. Low light is no problem. Images are very, very sharp at every aperture - readers please note the word 'very' used twice; this lens is renowned as one of Canon's best. The depth of field can also be made shallow to great effect at f2. The lens is slightly too long in focal length for portraits or close-quarters indoor use, which is no real criticism of a great L-series lens that excels in other contexts. In summary, then:

Aperture to f2: Very, very fast like a sports' car!
          Build quality: A Rolls Royce!
          Sharpness: Cool!

Purchase one - forget sports' cars; have a camera midlife crisis instead.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Canon EF 135mm f2 L USM Lens:

I have given this lens 5 stars on each review category because it is truly mind-blowing. It's sharpness is what really stands out, along with a beautiful bokeh / background blur wide open. AF is extremely fast. The metal build feels extremely solid and the glass is beautiful to look at. It's not too heavy and although it is expensive (being an L lens) when you consider that this is without doubt one of the best lenses Canon makes it is actually a bargain. Just some of the comments on this lens I have seen on photography forums from experienced and pro photographers include 'the Razor Pipe', 'this lens doesn't just blur backgrounds, it obliterates them' and 'the sharpest glass I have ever used on an SLR'. You will not be dissapointed with this lens! :-)
