Comments about Canon EF 200mm f2.8 L USM MKII Lens:

Wow I have been using the 70-200 for 6 years but personally I think the output image quality from this lens is much sharper, and produces better colour, also it beats the 70-200 down in price and most importantly its so easy to carry around, so many times i didn't take my 70-200 out with me because of the weight, the 200 2.8 will fit in a coat pocket so you don't miss a shot.....

Go on get you won't regret it.

Comments about Canon EF 200mm f2.8 L USM MKII Lens:

I bought this lens mainly for shooting rugby under floodlights. The F2.8 is great for this, and is also not too big to carry around. The image quality is as good as you would expect from Canon's L series lenses.

Comments about Canon EF 200mm f2.8 L USM MKII Lens:

This is a modestly priced high quality optic that is relatively light, compact and easy to handle. It is great for travel work and combined with the Canon 2x teleconverter makes for a versatile telephoto package for either full frame of crop sensor SLRs. It's also useful for street photography and portraits.

Comments about Canon EF 200mm f2.8 L USM MKII Lens:

I've been using this lens for about three years now on a 1.6x crop camera. I needed a good quality telephoto and this was just such good value. Build quality is rock solid, it's lightweight and the design is simple. It is incredibly sharp and focusing is extremely quick. For candid shots it is relatively dicreet - much more so than the 'white' 70-200. As with all long non-image stabilised lenses you just need to be realistic about what shutter speeds you can use when hand holding this lens. It can also cope well with a teleconverster. I've used both a 1.4x and a 2x extender on it with good results. On a crop camera you are getting the equivalent of a 320mm f2.8 or a 640mm f5.6 with a 2x extender and that is very useful for wildlife photography. This lens seems to often be overlooked but if you want top quality at a reasonable price then look no further.

Comments about Canon EF 200mm f2.8 L USM MKII Lens:

A lens I have had in my bag for nearly two years and used mostly for wildlife.
Canon L lenses are simply the Bees Kness when it comes to quality, all round quality that is. As a photographer from the old school, the days when everything was done manually, I am still astounded how a lens can focus so quickly and so precisely. This 200mm 2.8 lens is magic. Auto focussing is far quicker than I could ever do manually and far crisper too. A good reference point are birds in flight, especially when coming straight at you. This lens does everything so easily and truns out such good results that you will never want to stray from L lenses again.
Built to withstand most knocks, simple to use, sharp images and autofocus to die for. That sums it up really.
The wide end of 2.8 is stunning. I have used this lens taking candid shots wide open (f2.8) and have discovered a lens that is both strong and versitile. Getting a good portrait shot at f2.8 on a 200mm lens sounds daunting, but believe me, this really hits the mark.
                I Love It.
