I have used the 50mm f1.2 for several years and always been amazed by the results and having used a non L 24mm lens I was disappointed with the results and was put off getting a wide angle L lens. I use the 16-35mm F2.8 do most of my wide angle shots and have always been please with the results, but I wanted to push wider than 50mm and obtain better results and so took the plunge and bought the 35mm f1.4 L, firstly, I wish I had bought it years ago, the quality of the images is as good as the 50mm or 85mm f1.2, they are pin sharp and the lens lets in an amazing amount of light. The construction is great as usual and the focusing is smooth and very fast. It has rekindled my faith in wide angle prime lenses as being better than zooms by far. The great thing about this lens is it I perfect for landscapes or portraits.

Can't fault this lens, since moving over to primes its my go to lens for wider shots and group shots at weddings. Also for toddler/child sessions when you need to be that bit closer.

Always wanted this lens, and i wasn't disappointed the 1.4 aperture make for some great creative bokeh shots, very sharp lens great bit of glass. It was a toss up between this and the 24 but Im happy with this focal length, if i were to get a wide it would be the 14mm next.

Dont um and ahhh just buy it you wont regret it i guarantee.
