The Canon EOS 6D Digital SLR Camera Body is a full-frame DSLR and sits below the Canon 5D Mk III in the EOS line-up. Weighing in at just 770g, the Canon EOS 6D is built to a similar size and weight as the EOS 60D, yet combines a powerful full-frame imaging system and superior low-light performance with a compact, robust and lightweight design. The Canon EOS 6D features a 20.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, a DIGIC 5+ image processor (same as 5D Mk III) and an 11-point AF system with a single cross-type focus sensor. For the first time in any EOS model, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity are included, enabling photographers to capture stunning images on the move, tag them with location information and wirelessly transfer them to a computer or smartphone. The EOS 6D has a standard ISO range of 100-25600 which can be extended to ISO 50-102800. More
Expand the capabilities of the EOS 6D and your smartphone

20.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor
At the heart of the EOS 6D is a 20-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and a powerful DIGIC 5+ image processor. Together these deliver images that are packed with detail and clarity. Colours are reproduced accurately whilst tonal gradation is subtle and natural.
The full-frame advantage
Enjoy access to wide-angle EF lenses and discover new approaches to landscape, interiors and street photography. The extra control over depth of field provided by the full-frame sensor is perfect for adding impact to your portraits.
Designed to travel
Lightweight enough to go everywhere with you and strong enough to withstand the rigors of travel photography. Simple controls and intuitive ergonomics make the EOS 6D quick and easy to use.
Powerful low-light performance
When light levels get low, the EOS 6D keeps delivering superb photography. ISO sensitivity extends from ISO 100 up to ISO 25,600 (expandable to L:50, H1:51,200, H2:102,400) and an 11-point autofocus system is responsive down to -3EV. That’s sensitive enough to operate under moonlight.
Compose pictures with ease
Work intuitively with the EOS 6D’s bright full-frame viewfinder. A 1,040,000-dot 7.6 cm (3.0”) Clear View II LCD screen makes Live View shooting of stills and Full-HD video a pleasure.
Creative features designed for you
Preserve detail in both highlights and shadows with the EOS 6D’s high dynamic range (HDR) shooting mode, and create composite images with its multiple-exposure facility. ±5 stop exposure compensation and ±3-stop auto exposure bracketing allow flexibility and fine tuning of exposure.
GPS tracks your every movement
Built-in GPS determines your exact location and geotags each image file with the information. In GPS Logger mode a record of your route is recorded as you move around, even when the camera is switched off.
Wi-Fi for unparalleled connectivity
Shoot remotely from alternative viewpoints: connect and control your EOS 6D using your PC, Mac or smartphone. Images can be transferred wirelessly and shared with family and friends.
Shoot Full-HD video at 1080p resolution, taking advantage of fast-aperture lenses and full manual control to achieve cinematic effects.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the 6D. I was looking for full-frame picture quality in a good sized, responsive camera, as I was upgrading from a 350D. Prior to that I used film, and wanted the depth of field control that I used to enjoy with 35mm. The 6D is a great camera. I've used it in bright sunlight, on dull days, at night, in natural and artificial light. The pictures are of exceptional quality in terms of sharpness (I use a 24-105mm L), colour reproduction and detail. Taking hand-held pictures at night and getting great results is a revelation. I am very picky when it comes to quality and I'm thrilled by the results. I have used all the focusing points in low light without any problem. The autofocus is responsive and hasn't let me down in any light. So the reviews highlighting the inferior specs compared with the 5D Mk3 might be true, but I haven't felt that I've missed anything by choosing the 6D. The GPS and Wifi are very useful and fun. The Live View mode and video work well. I love this camera, and really can't think of anything negative to say about it. The 6D produces great pictures, is a joy to use and light enough to carry around all day. To be honest, I can hardly put it down, and it has inspired me to take my camera out more often and use it as much as possible.

All in all, a good purchase.

I love the ease of use of this camera and am a big fan of the quick controls via the lcd screen.I should maybe have done my research more carefully before splashing the cash, as I was hoping for a lighter camera than my 5D Mk II (to be my main travel camera). Turns out it's only 100 grams or so lighter. There are more focus points than the Mk II, but not a huge number.Nice to use though. Not great for action because of the slow shutter speed. I found too that using the GPS really drained the battery, so unless you have lots of spares or can charge every night, keep it turned off.I used the HDR function and was pleased with the results. The images don't need a lot of post processing, just basic stuff, which is good as the HDR files are JPEG not RAW. This function also is a bit heavy on the battery.

I use the 6D a lot of the time on quite dim stages where the high ISO speeds are really great. Given careful treatment in Lightroom 4, fantastic results are easy to achieve when shooting on the max.Wireless client monitoring on my i-pad is another great benefit as is the quiet shutter in comparison to my 1ds bodies.I don't find the lack of focus points a problem, I mostly shoot with just the centre point active. As a professional my gear sometimes takes a knock, I'm not sure of the longevity of the 'plastic' top plate, although I understand the need for the Wi-Fi signals to escape.

My first full format DLSR took a long time over deciding whether to go with the Canon 5 or 6d. Very happy with my choice. 6d is relatively light and packed with useful functions. love the wifi and GPS. I mainly use manual settings but some of the auto features like HDR and night scene are useful if you haven't got time or space for tripods and all the works.
