The Canon EOS 700D Digital SLR Camera Body brings the power and ease-of-use straight to your fingertips and in a lightweight body that’s exceptionally portable, yet solid in the hands. The Canon EOS 700D holds onto the same level of specification as its predecessor (EOS 650D) with the addition of a few physical enhancements - an improved outer body finish, a 360 degree mode dial and the ability to preview Creative Filters in real-time when using Live View mode. The Canon 700D keeps the versatile features that made the 650D so popular and responsive, such as the intuitive 3.0" vari-angle LCD touch screen, an 18 megapixel APS-C Hybrid CMOS sensor, a DIGIC 5 processor, 9-point AF system and the ability to record full HD 1080p (30p) movies, with stereo sound. More features include a built-in flash, SD card slot, continuous shooting at 5fps, an optical viewfinder with 95% coverage and an ISO range of 100-12800 (extendable to 25600). More

The Canon 700D product video
Superb image quality
Capture every detail with an 18-megapixel Hybrid CMOS AF sensor. The EOS 700D produces low-noise images that can be printed at large sizes or cropped for alternative compositions.
Produce Full HD movie projects
Shoot video at 1080p resolution, enjoying the right level of automatic or manual control for you. Hybrid AF technology enables continuous focusing when shooting video, and the EOS 700D supports near-silent Movie Servo AF with compatible STM lenses. Record stereo sound with a built-in or external microphone.
Keep up with fast moving action
Track moving subjects even if they move across the scene with an autofocus system comprising 9 cross-type AF points. Continuous shooting at 5 fps for bursts of up to 22 shots means you’ll never miss that decisive moment.
Explore new angles
Compose photos and movies from new and interesting angles using the EOS 700D’s Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0”) 3:2 ratio Clear View LCD II Touch screen. Shoot over the top of crowds, or go for a dramatic ground-level viewpoint.
The EOS 700D is easy to use from the moment you first pick it up. Shoot and focus with a single tap of the camera’s touch screen, and use pinch and swipe gestures to navigate when reviewing images.
Scene Intelligent Auto
Shoot great pictures easily. Canon’s Scene Intelligent Auto mode analyses the scene and selects the most appropriate cameras settings automatically.
Taking your next creative steps
Choose from and preview a range of Creative filter effects, including Grainy Black & White, Toy Camera and Miniature effect. Theme-based scene modes automatically pick the right settings for the subject being photographed, while Creative Auto mode offers more control over factors like background blur, via an intuitive interface.
Take complete control
When you’re ready to advance your photography choose to Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority or Manual mode for complete control over your images.
Take great pictures even in low light, shooting without flash to capture the true ambience of an occasion. The EOS 700D features an ISO sensitivity range of ISO 100-12800 (extendable to ISO 25600).
Great results in difficult conditions
HDR Backlight Control mode captures three different exposures and combines them into one, retaining shadow and highlight detail. The EOS 700D’s Hand Held Night Scene mode captures multiple images at fast shutter speeds and blends them together for a blur-free result.
Explore with the EOS System
Take your photography further with an extensive range of lenses, accessories and flashes that make up the EOS System.

Top notch camera!

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
I bought this camera body as a spare unit while I mainly use metal bodied units such as a EOS40D and an EOS60D which influenced my first impression of the 700D which was that it was too "plastic". However, this turned out to be of great benefit as it was ever so light! OK, so it may not be as durable as the metal bodied units but it is good for what it was designed for.Now that I have used the unit I am very satisfied with the product as it has so many features that most casual user will never ever use.Perhaps the biggest advantage for me was the high ISO speed capability: one can use the in-built noise reduction feature if shooting in JPEG or if shooting in RAW, then the reduction can also be carried post-shooting by using CANONs DPP program which comes as part of the package. This is a great feature when photographing a wedding in a church interior without flash.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent value for money
Very good camera for the amateur enthusiast representing excellent value for money. Has specs and features that will satisfy the great majority and won't weigh you down when carrying it about. Takes full range of all Canon lenses.
I recommend this product
I bought this camera because it has the flipable - touch control display, and one hell of a load of features which is what I wanted. I bought from WEX because the offer of tripod and bag was too good to pass on, though I have not as yet used either, I will when the weather gets better, though I have used the camera. To date I cannot fault this camera, I highly recomend it.Also the delivery was quick, better than, paying for car parking, browsing around the shops, making your choice then carrying it about with you all day, just order click and free delivery, what is better than a free delivery.
Great camera, RAW format frustrating
Used for weddings, portrait and landscapes........transition from hobby to potential retirement job.

Good, but could have been much better

This is my first foray back to the world of digital SLR's for some time. I've had an Olympus E-PL2 for the last few years, so I was keen to see how I would take to the new camera.First the bad... I was quite surprised how primitive the 700D was in comparison with the E-PL2 and how lacking in features it is. Bracketing is limited to 3 shots and there are no preset memories available. The Live View is comically bad and auto focus is unbelievably slow and patchy. My 5 year old smart phone is quicker and more accurate. It's essentially useless unless you manual focus. JPG output isn't great so you have to shoot RAW, Olympus JPG output knocks the spots off Canon's.The good... Picture quality in general is quite good and you can get away with ISO 3200 in most situations. Phase detect auto focus is quick and accurate once you change to spot focus and in general the camera is quick and responsive. Thanks goodness for the touch screen, it makes up for many of the GUI and feature deficiencies.I think that most of the problems with the camera are deliberately introduced by Canon to "up feature" more expensive models which is a shame. Mechanically and physically the camera is great, the feature set however is rather limited.Overall though, it's enjoyable to use and most of the time an enjoyable tool.

Great companion to my Canon MD Mark 1 with its ease of use

Just upgraded from the Canon 1100d to the 700d. Such a great camera, light enough for travel but a much better build quality than the 1100d. Really making good use of the articulated touchscreen, a lot more than I thought I would. Its a good upgrade from a basic DSLR,enough features and good quality for any enthusiast yet simple enough for a relative beginner. All in all a great buy.
Good update for Canon DSLR
I do not like the 3 position On/Off switch. It moves too easily past the "on" position for the camera to go in to video mode. Caused me angst when flash no longer worked!

The Brilliant 700D
I am very pleased with my 700D camera after owning a 7D for 3 years I was doubtful as it would match up to it, while the 7D has extra features I am delighted with the 7ooD it does all I need and being a lighter I find it easier to use as I am having problems with my hands, the picture quality is excellent and I find the controls easy to use, the only one problem I am having at present is I cannot open the camera raw files in Photoshop CS5, I have tried updates and a plug in, I am now going to get in touch with Canon and see if they can inform me of the problem but that is a minor detail compared to the good camera
