The Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3 is ideal for preventing camera shake for telephoto shots, macrophotography, and bulb exposures. With a two foot (60cm) cable it replicates all the functions of the camera AEs shutter-release button.

Does the job required
For use when taking long exposure landscape shots and macro use on my 70d. It is a lot cheaper than the full frame camera remote release which I got for my 6d.

Good but expensive
A fairly basic bit of kit, essentially just a switch to fire the shutter when the camera is on a tripod or similar. It works and feels good. Unfortunately it carries a Canon badge and this automatically puts up the price.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Does what it says on the box.
Purchased for use with a Canon G16, when taking my 5D3 is overkill.
Does exactly what it's supposed to.
What I like about it is the way it exactly mimics the shutter release on the camera. In other words, press down halfway and auto-focus kicks in then the rest of the way to release the shutter.
I would recommend this product
Use this for all tripod work, especially digiscoping
RS-60E3 Remote Switch
from West Yorkshire
I have used my original RS-60E3 since I bought a second hand 350d in 2008 and have taken upwards of 6000 images with it so far.In 2013 I bought a more up-to-date camera for astrophotography and so this item is so I can use both camera in tandem. The Canon device has lasted far longer than an after-market programmable remote switch which failed after less than 50 uses
Great value and a must have.

I use the remote switch for landscapes and portraits and it really helps cut down on any camera shake, especially on long exposures.
