The Canon WP-DC34 is an underwater housing for the Canon PowerShot G11 and G12. Not only is it waterproof down to 40m, allowing the G11 / G12 to be used whilst diving or snorkelling, but the WP-DC34 is also incredibly tough, offering the G11 and G12 additional protection on dry land. Prevent the case from floating while taking pictures underwater with the Canon WW-DC1 Compensation weights (sold separately).

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Comments about Canon WP-DC34 Waterproof Case for PowerShot G11 and G12:
even the Chinese tourists were envious of the housing, it performed really well and delivered some super underwater photographs, well worth the investment.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

WP-DC34 Chunky & That's Good
from North East
I had the WP-DC28 when I had the Canon G10 and had to buy this when I upgraded to the G12. I haven't used it in earnest yet but it is well built, feels sturdy and the buttons are easy to access, just what's needed at 25 metres under the water. (It's actually rated to 40m).The front glass is nice and clear and the camera feels safe inside this case. The majority of controls are available including full menu. The only complaint I might have is that you can't change the shutter speed or aperture when the camera is in the case but everything else is available. However, I would largely shoot with the aperture wide open when diving and there are 2 custom settings that can set prior to diving which then can be accessed. The camera is positively buoyant with the case so I don't understand why Canon didn't include some weights with it, especially as it is specific to this camera and therefore always going to be the same. I understand that you can add extra equipment i.e. flashes etc. which would make it heavier but the weights are going to be needed by the majority of people, unless you don't mind having a camera that acts like a balloon underwater but that's a small niggle.Overall, a good solid case and surprisingly cheap [...]. OK, there is a big difference in handling and quality but for the hobbyist that wants to go snorkelling, diving or taking a camera to the beach then this is great. You can use it for rainy days too safe in the knowledge that your camera is going to stay dry.I can't wait to get under the water with this for some HD underwater video.
