I was looking for replacement foam insert for an old Aluminum case, the Clubman was not much more in price.Very pleased with build and style. Bear in mind it is not designed as a seat but a kit-carrying case that offers impact and weather protection and it does that well.In this model I have used the die-cut foam to house a Nikon D300 + 18-200VR lens, Sigma 75-300mm and 105mm macro lenses, Sigma EF530super Flash gun; and a Canon 350D+10-22mm. And odd pockets for filters etc.

At first glance these cases seem excellent - the styling is nice, they look secure, and they can be taken as carry-on luggage on aircraft. Internally the provided foam inserts / dividers organise and protect your gear quite well.Unfortunately the build quality is not very good - rivets and corner brackets come loose, the thin panels easily get dented and warped, and after a couple of airline trips the cases start to disintegrate. The locks can be easily opened with a pen-knife, so offer little security. You can get a much stronger case by going to your local B&Q and getting one of their tool cases, which are made of strong plywood covered with a thin sheet of aluminium, and have internal dividers. They are much cheaper and much more strongly made than these Clubman cases.

Great Case - Worth the Money

Comments about Clubman Aluminium Case AL18:
I honest can't fault this case. I bought one and customised the foam for my purpose (flash guns and triggers for this case) and it's perfect.I've got 4 Flash guns in there, my LED Light and also my wireless trigger and receivers (x2).Worth every penny. I will be ordering another straight after this review. Only thing I regret, not getting two at same time for the delivery price as I have to pay another £4.99 now...... :)
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Photo Enthusiast
I am using the product to protect my equipment when it is being transported in my motorhome, in the back of the car and on the back of the motorbike.
What a Bargain
About Me Semi-pro Photographer
This is an excellent case that provides sufficient accommodation for a compact system or a collection of accessories
Good value and flexible
I use this to store video accessories such as microphones, cables and field monitor. I like the flexibility provided by the combination of rigid dividers and semi-perforated foam. The egg-foam lid is a plus but there's a gap between it and the main body when the case is closed, so small items can become dislodged. Also the base of the case is lined with fairly hard plastic rather than a sheet of foam. So four rather than five stars.

I use this box for safe and organised storage of the numerous battery chargers associated nowadays with the job.
strong versatile camera case

very good, well constructed case. The foam inserts are easy to arrange to ones own camera reuirements.
Great Value and a good case
By Clive B
This is a great case given the cost, I don't think it is tough enough to use as a flight case though it is small enough to use as carry on luggage hence only four stars (I wouldn't want to check my more expensive camera equipment anyway).I use mine for storage as I use a back pack and belt pack combination for daily transport (more suited to wildlife photoprapy). These cases hold all my spare equipment, cameras, lenses, flashguns, leads, etc along with a few packs of silica gel (no moisture, no fungus - can't be too careful).
Excellent product for the price
I bought an epsom digital projector and the soft case that came with it did not offer enogh protection. This case fits the bill perfectly and for the price is excellent. You can also use the case to stand the projector on whilst giving the presentation.

A Decent All-Rounder.
from Liverpool, UK
I bought the Clubman Aluminium Case AL18 by Clubman to store and transport a DSLR camera with its most useful accessories: lenses, battery grip and charger, extension tubes, flash, etc.. Pick and pluck foam makes fitting even the most tortuous shapes easy and keeps them secure. The locks are functional, but basic and there is no brackets to allow the fitting of a padlock. A shoulder strap is provided, but I find the handle comfortable enough for normal transport.Similar cases I've had in the past had an insert under the egg-box foam in the lid to store manuals, notebooks, software disks (so I know where to find them!), etc. This would be a useful addition. It would also be useful if the case were 2-3 inches longer as I had to double stack several of the accessories. However, these are personal quibbles! The construction is solid, the locks useful in deterring little (and not so little) fingers and the foam, if properly sculpted, will keep delicate equipment of any type, safe and sound. For the price it represents good value for money.
