This Cokin filter kit includes a filter holder, Grad Grey ND2 (121L Light), Grad Grey ND4 (121M Medium) and Grad Grey ND8 (121S Soft) filters. These gradual neutral grey filters reduce the total amount of light reaching the film without affecting the colour balance. Each filter is clear at the bottom half with a gradual transition of the ND effect in the top half of the filter. They produce a grey neutral tone and are used to reduce light, enabling more control over the exposure and depth of field. For example, when photographing landscapes in which the sky is much brighter than the foreground, placing the neutral density part of the filter onto the sky in the frame will reduce the sky exposure without affecting the foreground. This kit is recommended for focal lengths from 20mm onwards (35mm format) and anything wider than 20mm will show the edge of your holder in the frame. Note: No adapter rings are included and are available separately. More
The Cokin U960 Pro ND-Grad Filter Kit contains: a Filter holder, Grad Grey ND2 (121L Light), Grad Grey ND4 (121M Medium) and Grad Grey ND8 (121S Soft) filters. In order fit the holder onto your lens you will need to buy an adatper ring (not included) to match the diameter of your lens.
The Cokin Z-Pro Series are specially adapted to 100mm (4") filters and designed for medium format cameras as well as wide-angle lenses. Recommended for focal lengths from 20mm onwards (35mm format) & for lenses up to 96mm. This series is also well adapted to prosumer and professional video cameras.
There are 4 different sizes of filters to choose from: A series / P series / Z-Pro professional series and X-Pro professional series.
The Cokin Creative Filter System consists of three main components: A filter holder / Adapter ring and a Filter.
1. Screw the adapter ring onto your lens.
2. Slide the filter holder on the adapter ring until it snaps in place. The filter holder is now solidly attached to the lens, yet it can rotate both left and right.
3. Slide the filter into one of the filter holder slots. The one closest to the filter holder housing is the narrowest; it allows the use of round filters with notched edges (polarizer, star filters..). The two central slots are intended for square filters. The outer slot can be used either for an additional filter or for a coupling ring.

Comments about Cokin U960 Pro ND-Grad Filter Kit:
Using a full frame camera with a 24-105mm lens at its widest focal length (24mm) the filter holder encroaches slightly into view other wise it would be a 5. This kit actually comes with a case and the individual filter pouches are very good.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Semi-pro Photographer
I did get the results that I had hoped for with this product, but was left wishing that I had waited until I could afford a better quality filter system.I found that the filters would slip within the filter holder, not a great amount, but sufficient to require re adjustment. Also, the way in which the adaptor ring fits into the filter holder could be of better design. When in use, the holder and filters can easily be knocked from the vertical, as there is no way of tightening the grip of the holder onto the adaptor ring. There are 2 plastic lugs that protrude from the holder, in order to prevent the adaptor ring from sliding out. These lugs also protrude through to the other side of the holder, which prevents a filter being placed in the first of the slots. The first slot is the one of choice, as it holds the filter nearest to the holder and there is less chance of light creeping in. The answer is to remove the protruding end of the lug with a knife!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Not as expected and expensive!
I found the Cokin Z pro kit very disappointing. I have submitted a review before, but I guess it wasn't published as it was out of stock at the time I wrote the review.I upgraded my "P" kit as I now have both FX and DX Nikon cameras, but all my lenses are 35mm, so suitable for both. I couldn't afford the Lee system. I will say at the outset the "Z" filters work very well on DX, but so did the "P" series, but of course there is a narrower field of view. The first thing I noted and the reason I upgraded was the filter holder encroaching on the viewfinder at any focal length below 19mm. This precluded me using them on my Nikon 16-35mm at 16-19mm, which is disappointing.Cokin claim that the "Z" filter kit is suitable for Wide angle lenses along with the "P" range, however I believe this needs updating as I suggest it written before full frame sensor cameras were available. The other option would be to buy the extremely expensive Cokin "X" kit along with its high price tag (currently £325). At that price one could buy Lee filters. So frankly I am disappointed and also as I have seen no such problems in other reviews on WEX by other users, I can only assume that either, no full frame user with a lens wider than 16mm has used them, or all users are DX owners.May I request that the Cokin compatibility table be updated please. I am not ticking the "Yes, I would recommend this to a friend" as the filters are not suitable for FX lens/camera users wider than 19mm, however I would have said "Yes" if they were being used exclusively on DX.Richard
Excellent ND Filter Kit - Does the Job
The kit consists of 3 robust graduated ND filters each protected in well made fabric wallets, a mount and a carrying case. The case has space for additional filters, which is a bonus. The Wex service was superb. I ordered on-line in the early evening and the product was with me by mid-morning the following day - fantastic!
A great starter kit in filters
I use this kit everytime I have a bright sky in the viewfinder. It makes all the colours seem so much more vivid. It is quite a big piece of kit to add to the front of the camera & it's a pain that Cokin don't make a lens protector to add to the front (like in the smaller sizes), but it works great with my 18-200 Nikon lens, unlike the smaller kits. I also need to buy a bigger camera bag to put it all in!
Does what it says on the tin!

Perfect kit for landscape photography

I use the kit for landscape and architectural subjects to maintain detail in the sky while exposing correctly for the foreground.Cheaper than the Lee kit but still lives up to professional label.Filters come well protected in substantial soft pouches. However, I don't like the fact that the filter holding screws could quite easliy be lost - there should be a safety device to stop them unscrewing right out and being lost.
Classy lookin Cokin
Stylish, functional. Does what it says on the box.

a solidly constructed bit of kit. the size of it means its a definate decision to take it with you, of course it is this size for a reason, to avoid dark corners etc. The carry bag that comes with it is great, the inner sheafs to house the items tend to leave fluff and fibres on the lens'
