I had used several other brackets but had never been fully satisfied with the results. As a 'real world' wedding photographer events often move too fast to allow for more adventurous off-camera flash set ups so on-camera flash is the only way.

I bought this bracket in January 2012 and used it, at a wedding, just a few days after I received it.

I found it extremely intuitive to use and the flash photographs were better than any previously.

At the risk of stating the obvious the photographer still needs to apply the correct amount of flash in relation to ambient light and consider bounce angles but correct use of this product will do much to reduce the unsightly shadows associated with on-camera flash.

It is a well made item that instills a feeling of confidence in the user.

First class product, worked very well and well built. Results from a very dark conference event were perfect with no red eye even from my 70-200mm. Easy to fold away ready for the next shoot. Worked perfect with both my Canon 5d MkII and Canon 1d MkIII with a 580ex II flash gun. Would recommend to any pro.

Have a Canon 50D with a Speedlite 580EX and still had that cracking shot spoilt with Red Eye, now no more, also with the flash being that much further away from the camera it gives a softer effect to the flash, also no interference when using longer lenses. Packs away easily and is really well made, should of got one a long time ago.

didnt quiet like the onboard flash with the lightsphere attached or any other modifier for that matter, when shooting portrait mode as there was a noiticable bias to the shadow very simple to flip over so the flash remains on top - if you are using a battery grip its easier to switch the grip on before attaching to the bracket- I have also used this version without the battery grip attached by putting the upright to the left hand side veiwed from shooting direction - I also attached a Hama flash adapter (all plastic version no connections at all) to make attaching the flash or cable easier
I have also used the canon 7d wireless and used the onboard flash to give a bit of fill in when using bounce flash

This was something I was looking for over the last few years and had even toyed with the idea of making one , but luckily I saw a picture of one in an American book and found out that they could be obtained here . From the minute I unwrapped the bracket I knew that was "pukka kit" , substantial , strong and light, while still looking like a pro piece of gear . The whole thing moves like a ballet dancer , smoothly into the chosen position , and able to stay there ! No flimsy "Is it or isn't it" joints but real workhorse hinges . The brackets allow a great range of attachments and with a bit of ingenuity you could mount a couple of flashs . It is completely robust and easy to hold and is now part of my essential kit . While it makes you look like like a pro it could be a life saver at some events ... quickly detach it , fold it up and you have a very solid weapon to protect you from drunken rock fans ......equipment thieves ...etc .... the only flash they see could be the stars in their eyes !!!! All in all a very robust , utterly dependable , versatile piece of kit and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an off camera bracket 10 / 10 every time
