Great kit and excellent carry cases. The softboxes are a little fiddly to put together initially, but once you've done it a couple of times it does get easier. Nice little dvd with it too which explains the features better than a manual.

Looks to be very well constructed; full of features - the wireless trigger is particularly useful; particularly like how the kit fits into its carry cases and light to carry around.

A good studio package for the casual user.
Very easy to set up and use, as it stands can be used for basic lighting set-ups. Add some bigger softboxes, grids, beauty dish and they are a great studio kit.

I have found this the perfect kit for using in my studio and when on location. The excellent bags not only protect the flash heads but make the kit very easy to carry. They are compact enough to take with you on the train or tube.

I love the reliability of the wireless trigger, its one less thing to worry about when on location or working against the clock.

I really wish the stands were air-damped as I have dropped the heads once by accident when packing down quickly. The flash heads have continued to work perfectly.

The bottom line is that this kit allows you to show up and shoot. You can get on with taking photos and not wasting time with intermittent flash triggers and heads which dont fire when you want them to. This might not be the last flash kit I buy but its certainly a good place to start.

Save your time reading reviews, and spend it experimenting and taking photos with these instead. Happy snapping!

A great 'pro-sumer' lighting kit for those photographers looking for their first set-up, or pro's looking for a reliable take-anywhere kit.
The quality of the softboxes are second to none, brilliant quality, as are the carry cases.
The light quality from the softboxes is beautiful, even though there is a lack of inner diffuser.
Recharge rate is fast, even at full power, though you'll rarely go to full power for most situations.
The only downside to this kit (and this is being picky), is the missleading photograph on the front of the box, which shows each of the flash heads fitted with a diffuser/modifier.... you actually only get one modifier with the kit, not two as shown.
All in all a great kit for the price.

I use these for my events work. They are portable and easy to carry. The soft boxes were tricky to assemble the first time (It took me about 30mins) but after that they got easier. They now take me about 2 mins to put up/take down. I was looking closely at the Lastolite lumen8 set before opting for these and I am glad I did.

I was recommended to Elinchrome lighting by a colleague. Although dubious at first I researched many reviews and technical bulletins on the range of equipment...This Studio 4 2 Go set of lights and stands is really great value for money and after using this set up now for a few weeks, I am very pleased indeed that I moved over to Elinchrome...easy to use and a great DVD with the pack that makes reading the manual obsolete..highly recommended.

The D-lites are so easy to use - straight out of the box - within minutes I was using them to shoot great studio portraits. At the price I cannot fault them

I've been using these over the last year and they perform flawlessly when shooting all day long.
I've also been using the interfit exd200 kit and I've had 3 heads blow up which does not inspire your client with confidence.
The elinchrom gear are very neatly packaged with sturdy & easy to carry bags. The zips on the interfit bags broke, were sent for repair and broke again. The interfit bag is also too huge and cumbersome and offers little protection.
The stands are also quicker in use compared to the interfit. The difference is from about 2 seconds to 10 seconds. It may not sound like
much but on a busy shoot with time sensitive subjects, the difference becomes frustrating.
I have now returned the interfit and bought a second set of these.

I really like those. I travel to most places, so I needed something portable. All of the kit packs down to two shoulder bags - absolutely brilliant. Everything fits like a glove. They are really light and quick to set up.

I don't like the included soft boxes though. The first few times I set them up and took them down, they required a huge amount of strength, to the point that I was afraid of ripping them. No such worry though, the material is really robust. After a few days work the soft boxes became easier to assemble (the material of the soft box softened up a little bit), but they still give me bother when taking them down.

I'd recommend buying an extra brolly to go with it.

The lights are really fast in it's price category, which was a big factor for me. They also have inbuilt fans, which keeps them working under abuse.

The colour temperature is consistent, I didn't experience any major shifts.

The tripods are more sturdy than you expect from a lightweight kit.

They have a plastic construction, the plastic feels nice to touch, if a bit light. I can't help to be extra careful with the heads because of that.

Overall: great kit for the price.
