Not quite Perfection
About Me Tech Professional
Comments about Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner:
Good scanner but limits size of scans to A4 and film to 120 size only. Scanning of large negatives only possible by stitching. Large documents limited by lid fastenings. OCR software does a good job.. I would recommend it for small scale copying despite a very delicate screen.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

fiddly but excellent

About Me Novice
The disc driver won't work with later Mac operating systems, You have to download the driver from the Epson support website. Took me ages to fathom it out because the disc kept saying that everything was installed perfectly but then it wouldn't work. Now it's working it takes its time but the result is very good indeed, eg sharp full-screen enlargement from 50 year old box brownie print one and a half inches square.

About Me I'm Afraid I Am, Novice
Purchased primarly to scan my 35mm. slides dating back 40 years. Also my Rollei 2.25 glass-mounted slides.A large percentage of the earlier 35mm. slides had deteriorated. PhotoShop to the rescue.Very pleased with the performance

Perfection - Well Named
About Me Tech Savvy
The Epson software installed on my Mac faultlessly and integrated with my current Epson printer/scanner/copier.I have been enjoying scanning my archive of colour slides and colour negative film. The document scanner will usefully save in PDF or jpeg formats.Every photographer who has used film will love the Epson Perfection V600.
I bought the V600 after considerable research to scan some of my old 120 and 35mm negative collection.I'd identified in advance that the software bundled with most film scanners is inferior to products like Viewscan which offer levels of flexibility and access to the scanners more powerful facilities, so having had a short dalliance with the bundled offering I installed Viewscan Pro and got started. The quality of output from the V600 properly configured is excellent, especially from good quality MF negatives. The quality from prints and slides is also excellent, although the anti-dust technology is no replacement for a good blast with a dustoff can before scanning. So, all in all an excellent product, but don't buy it if you have thousands of images to scan as the process is pretty slow however for scanning your best negatives/slides to a high quality I'd thoroughly recommend the V600

Epson V600 is Perfection
Great product does exactly as is says and with ease.Like the way the lid stays up in two different positions without having to hold it, it leaves both hands free for positioning the items you are scanning.Scans negatives with ease and no fuss. Also has a very sleek design which always looks good on your desk
