Replacing the MH1302-300, the new series II MH1312-300 ball head incorporates additional features to ensure that camera positioning can be made with even more precision whilst still retaining the rapid camera positioning associated with the Series I ball heads. As the smallest and lightest of the 1300 series MH1312 is a perfect fit for the MT travel tripods with its 50mm base diameter, and will fit on the MTL, but does not completely cover the 60mm top platform on those models. Giottos MH1300 Series II features

In addition to the ball locking lever an additional control allows you to adjust the friction on the ball whilst unlocked, meaning that you can set the friction to suit the weight of your camera and lens combination. With friction applied to the ball you have far greater control over the speed with which the ball will move and ultimately allow more precise positioning. Other features include an additional pan lock control, an extra large weight saving hollowed ball to ensure stability whilst retaining excellent maximum weight capacities.
