The giottos is nicely made and solid.
Changing angle of the legs is very easy and quick pullout the metal tad
Set angle and push in.
Fully extended with the column down this tripod is almost eye level
I'm over 6feet.

Excellent value, but would be good if a carry bag came as standard.

Excellent solid base even with sigma 150 - 500 zoom mounted.

The tripod is reasonably lightweight but the head is quite heavy

The Giottos is the only tripod i've used or owned and so it was hard picking the right tripod for my uses.. I take mainly landscape photos and needed a good solid tripod that would stand the test of time and wasn't too heavy to carry en route to various locations. All i can say is that on my first few weeks of ownership it is first class. It's a classy looking tripod and definately has the feeling of being well made.. As for ease of use it is very very easy, no problems attaching camera or using all the tripod features. I cannot compare this to another tripod but i will say if you choose this one you will not be disappointed it does everything you need for a good quality tripod.. For the price it's a bargain compared to some tripods and it is a massive step up from budget tripods..

Well designed and solid build, used for a evening landscape shots, macro work, attempted some panoramas - camera really steady, essential for a sharp looking pictues. Do not mind the weight, just hangs of a camera backbag when traveling. Some say that even best camera of today will be out of date a few years latter, good tripod is still going to be good tripod. This one for me definatelly feels this way.
