G-Lock is the redesigned locking mechanism from Gitzo which achieves a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and a more secure locking system. The bespoke design offers a ‘gravity lock’ effect: the more load you apply vertically to the legs of the tripod, the stronger the lock.
Gitzo GT2940 Levelling Tripod – Ground Level Set
Using the Gitzo Ground Level Set feature, you can remove the centre column, consequently saving weight and enabling you to get the camera closer to the ground. The feature operates using only the existing components: the upper disc with reversible 1/4 - 3/8 bolt and the column hook assembly: By removing the column you can fix the disk directly to the upper casting using the column hook. No tools are needed to do this.
Gitzo GT2940 Levelling Tripod – Power Disc
The Power Disc is the upper disc of the tripod, which is made of solid aluminium and features two locking screws. One screw locks the head while the other safely locks the disc onto the column, giving the whole system a rock solid connection for extra stability and security.
