I specifically purchased this just for protection while shooting at the beach to avoid salt and sea spray. In everyday use it hasn't made any noticeable difference to the quality either. Exceeded expectations, the only thing I would say if the surface of the glass coating feels very mat and tends to attract particles but nothing that can't be cleaned. No idea if it reduces uv issues on a digital SLR but certainly no negatives.

This mounts well and even with rough use has no signs that it would get removed easily.

Optics seem clear, with no colour distortion.

Bought as a simple lens protection, but is sturdier than others at this range.

The filters do exactly what is required and are of a good build quality. They arrived quickly and fitted straight on. Ususal expected Hoya quality.

I use this filter as a cheap, permanent fixture to protect my lens from dust and scratches.

The haze reduction is an added bonus and a secondary concern to me.

I am very happy with the clarity of the lens and construction and would recommend this to any dslr user.
