This is an invaluable piece of kit for anyone interested in portrait work. Its light absorbtion characteristics are astonishing, staying matt and effectively invisible under most pighting conditions.

If you're into low key or high contrast portraits then this is the background to have.

It's a doddle to set up and ... interesting ... to put away! There is a nack, however, just look for videos on Youtube!

An excellent product, if a bit tricky to put away for the first couple of tries! Mine didn't come with any folding instructions so I ended up on the lastolite website watching a video to see how it was done... But the results I've achieved with it are excellent, its really easy to set up.

This really does the job creating dense black backgrounds for portraiture or still life. It's big enough for 3/4 length shots as well and wide enough for props, flailing arms etc and you can always use it landscape if you need the width.

Unlike other black backgrounds it soaks up light like a sponge so you don't need much distance behind the model and you don't need to worry about spill. As long as it's just out of focus that's all you need. You probably could light it but you'd need a very big source, you'd be much better off with paper anyway if that is your plan. Perfect for tight spaces and very quick to put up. It's rigid enough to prop against a wall without the stand.

As with all collapsibles there's a knack to folding it back up again, often with hilarious consequences (don't open it out or try to fold it up near anything fragile!).
