If you are looking to create a soft lighting effect, the Lastolite EzyBox Hotshoe is the product for you. The Hotshoe converts the harsh directional light that your battery operated flash gun creates into a much softer, diffused light, perfect for portrait shots for example. The EzyBox Hotshoe is designed to be easy to transport, as it folds down flat making it easy to store and can be reassembled in only a few minutes. The Lastolite 54cm x 54cm EzyBox Hotshoe Kit includes the EzyBox Hotshoe (with plate), 4 section stand, tilthead bracket, extending handle (24cm - 42cm), padded shoulder bag and carry case.
The kit is also available in 38cm and 76cm versions. More
Please read - Lastolite: Due to a change in how we measure our softboxes, the 60cm (24") Ezybox Hotshoe (2462) has recently been re-named as the 54cm (21") Ezybox Hotshoe (2462). Both softboxes are in fact the same size and item number. Any accessories designed for the 54cm (21") Ezybox Hotshoe are also compatible with the 60cm (24") Ezybox Hotshoe.

I suppose to be totally honest the set up can be a little fiddly but once done it is easy to use and completely portable.

I'm not impressed

About Me Semi-pro Photographer
As I get older, I'm trying to move from studio lights to speedlite - style flash because I move around a lot. I shoot in people's homes and other locations so the weight and portability is important. With this in mind I've been trying a few modifiers the latest of which was this one.I was incredibly disappointed. This kit is certainly not robust and compared to much cheaper efforts available is not in my opinion good value. I have used a lot of Lastolite products in the past and have always been pleased with them but this one lets the side down. Although the actual softbox itself is well constructed and a good product in it's own right, the cheap plastic brackets in the kit are well below standard and would not stand up to much real world use. It might be lastolite have gone for making it very light, and in that they have succeeded but I wouldn't use it due to inferior quality.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
very easy to use and makes use of existing flash kit.
Simply easy lighting with Flashgun
This is a lovely little addition to the kit. Its simply easy to add a bit of soft light to any situation, whether outdoors or indoors, as the Flashgun is with you and no need to worry about mains power with studio lighting, or battery packs.

ALl rather good i would say

[...] Very easy to assemble and a good compromise of size v portability. Perfect for head and shoulder shots. All very good quality.
Very good if you are a strobist and want to soften the flashgun output. In comparison to taking a studio flash kit and power pack out and about, it is just so much simpler.Good quality of light for head and shoulders work. OK for full length but not spectacular.Folding the softbox takes a bit of practice but it's not much different from the other Lastolite fold-up products. The extending handle isn't much use because it is too short. Just have an assitant fold the legs on the light stand and jack it up to the required height. Much better.
Good concept and quick to set up
from York, UK.
Very impressed with the results from this 60 x 60 kit. Now using it with wireless triggers to give me a little more freedom from the off camera flash cord and will be considering getting the bigger version to use them together. However, for head and shoulders the 60 x 60 has been fine on it's own. On the down side, folding the the softbox up can be a little awkward until you get used to it, and the zips on the Lastolite bags are not very robust. Additionally, some of the stitching came adrift on the edge of the softbox.
Better than I expected

I've used this a few times now and I have to say it does deliver on head n shoulder shots (not tried on full body shots but I've read it may not work that well - we'll see)Easy set up, good quality stand and very versatile. (I like the clamp that has a ratchet so positioning it at angles means it will remain there and not fall or slip)If I have a slight gripe it could be that the bracket holding the diffuser onto the clamp could be longer as my remote trigger on the flash pushes the bracket to its highest position (it won't fall out but it's a close thing - it's a small gripe)Overall, happy enough but could be a bit cheaper
