Designed to fit directly to a flashgun (on or off camera) the Ezybox Speed-Lite is a 22cm x 22cm mini softbox which includes removable inner and outer diffusion layers delivering exceptional softness of light from such a small unit. The softbox folds away in the same way as the highly successful Ezybox softbox making it an ultra portable solution for busy photographers.

Bought to use when photographs of exhibition stands are required.Great for this but now tend to leave in my bag and use when travelling.Far more robust than cheaper models on sale.

Performance OK design to improve

Softbox has inner and outer diffuser and gives good diffusion and is compact and light in weight. Initial set up is a little fiddly until you get the hang of fitting the diffusers with Velcro but once in place is very secure. I have not tried folding down and setting up and tend to leave the Softbox permanently set up.The design for the speedlight fitting however is not good. There is a very very tight elastic opening into which you are meant to push fit the speedlight but frankly I only tried it once and was concerned about forcing the speedlight into such a tight opening. Instead I used the Uni-Mount from the Interfit Strobies Modi Light Kit which I also bought and ordered a spare Uni-Mount. I modified the Velcro straps on the Softbox and fitted the Uni-Mount semi-permanently to the Softbox although it can be removed if required.
I would recommend this product
I have used this to give good light from off camera flash when photographing young toddlers as they are constantly moving around. I can grab it and reposition quickly. It gives a soft light. Very easy to use and attach to a flash. Light enough to attach to a flash eg SB 900 whilst on camera. Very pleased with the results, although I did need to increase exposure by +0.7ev.
I prefer Lastolite all the time

I bought this to use at a football tournament that was promising to be very cloudy...And It was very cloudy and gloomy... not ideal for tourney photos. With Team photos with light to dark complexions and shadows,The diffuser allowed me to get features on individual and group photos that were not blown out by a normal flash. The unit fits the flash well and is secured with double elastics.

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Easy to use and creates relatively soft light
By The Monk
Bought this to add a little bit of flexibility to my off camera flash setup and I've been using it for about a month now. I was surprised to find that the softbox comes in a robust little pouch which is a nice touch. It does come with some instructions but it is pretty self explanatory to setup. It feels pretty robust and well made and I have no qualms about how long it will last for.It feels very secure once on the flashgun and I've had it outdoors in a breeze with no trouble (I did use a sandbag on the lightstand though). I've used this with flashguns triggered by another flash and not had any issues with them failing to fire due to the receiver being covered but depending on what kind of flash you have this could be an issue. The only issue I have is that the velcro for the outer diffusion panel sticks to everything extremely well and so it can often take my a few attempts to get it to line up properly! It is a fairly small softbox so probably best suited to product photography and head and shoulders portraits but I'm very happy with it overall. A great addition for anybody looking to get more from their flash setup without breaking the bank.
Portable soft box beats direct flash
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this mini softbox performs. Obviously not as effective as a larger unit but for the money and portability there's no reason to complain. My only crtitcism being it's a bit tricky to point the flash upwards because of the fixing straps. Granted this isn't essential as the light firing straight ahead is relatiely soft compared with direct flash. Well pleased with purchase.
So far, so good!
About Me Semi-Professional
Incredibly easy to use as it flips open straight out the bag! And folding away is a cinch.Fitted to a speed light on camera it becomes a little cumbersome, but not unworkable. Better used off camera with the speed light on a stand. Great for doing quick and easy 'mini studio' shots especially of products.
