Designed to fit directly to a flashgun (on or off camera) the Ezybox Speed-Lite is a 22cm x 22cm mini softbox which includes removable inner and outer diffusion layers delivering exceptional softness of light from such a small unit. The softbox folds away in the same way as the highly successful Ezybox softbox making it an ultra portable solution for busy photographers.

Huge improvement from bare flash
I previously used a flash head diffuser but was never been very happy with the result. Whilst my Stofen type diffuser worked, its effect pales into insignicance when compared with the Lastolite SoftBox. That is not to critise the Stofen, it does what it does. The Lastolite is ideal for small scale off the camera shots and is simplicty itself to assemble and use.You can always tell a quality product by the nature of its carry case. This one is bomb proof. I can totally recommend this product.
Should have bought some years ago
About Me Professional
Great for location jobs when studio flashes are not really necesary, but controlled lighting is. Also as an overhead back light for portraits using a lightweight boom.
Good value for money

I use my one inside or outside whenever a light box is needed but it is not practical to carry a full size one. Particularly good for macro fill in light shots when I don't want to use my macro flash. It rewards careful assembly to get the best results

Harsh on my review!!
By Greg Hill Photography
sorry, i should've added to my earlier review of this that it has better uses than when used directly "on the camera"... i purchased a Hahnel Tuff wireless trigger for my Speed lite - which allows this softbox to be used "off camera" - whereas it becomes a more useful, low cost softbox.. and also them makes you feel much less silly than when it is used on-camera. sorry should've mentioned that before... not all bad therefore!! I'm still not going to 'recommend it' as i think you will need to think about the purchase yourself and how you will end up using it. I dont use mine 'on camera' but works with the above mentioned Hahnel set-up pretty well.
Portable Speed-lite Softbox
Having purchased it to soften the harsh flash/light from my speed lite, i suppose it does what it is designed to do. I just feel a bit daft using it... It has a bit of a "what are you doing with that" look about it.A 6 out've 10 rating at best!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Does what it says on the tin.

I use this fitted to my Nikon SB900 for both on camera and off camera use. In both applications I have found it meets my lighting expectation. The system comes flat pack and of a size that is easily transportable but not in your camera bag unless it is very large. It is easy and quick to assemble although the Velcro straps holding the flash in place did give me cause for concern the first time around. They have however proved to be more than adequate. The front diffuser when first unpacked had a definite crease across the centre which has gone with use and does not appear to affect the operation of the unit.
Better than most

The ezy box is a great bit of kit, and because its made by lastolite, it is well built, cleverly designed and is robust enough to cram into a camera bag. Good diffused light but remember to put the inner baffle on. I use it off camera with a speed light, but look forward to trying it on camera. well worth the spend if you photograph people.
Tad expensive justified by results.
So much better than harsh flash. Better still with remote flash though not as good as umbrella although less cumbersome.
Useful bit of kit

Over the years I've used a number of diffusers that fit onto a flashgun. They've all worked to some extent, but the main problem has been keeping them fixed to the flashgun. This is by far the most secure when on the gun. And because it doesn't use sticky velcro, you can move it from one flash-gun to another as required. It is, however, much bulkier than any of the others, both in use and when packed away.It does give a lot of diffusion, so you need to test it out with and without the internal diffuser to get an idea of its output with your particular set-up. I still prefer a brolly, but this is easier to use in many situations, particular in windy conditions. It is bulky when packed, and pretty much fills the laptop section of my camera bag. But at least it does fit inside (while the brolly handle is too long and sticks out)
