Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

As with all Lowepro bags, the build quality is excelent.
I bought this specifically for use with my new Canon 100-400L lens (And a Canon 450d SLR)
It fits perfectly, after I removed a small peice of packing foam. This foam is useful if you are using a smaller lens than the 100-400.

The only thing that I feel is missing is perhapse a space for a smaller lens. I could maybe fit a niffty 50 in the top pocket, but it would not be protected very well. Other than that there are some pockets for batteries and spare cards etc.

Saying not enough pocket room is perhapse a little harsh, as this bag is advertised specifically to carry a large lens attached to a camera.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

Fits my canon 1dv with 70-200 2.8 is (with hood reversed) just. Also extra pockets for cf cards, lens cloths, etc. really well made and the all weather cover particularly useful in horrible weather.

I have a number of camera bags and this is now my preferred for days out when I'm restricting myself to either a single tele or two small primes.

        • Carrying second camera

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

I bought this to carry a second camera, either a Canon 1D Mk3 fitted with a Canon 100-400 Zoom lens or a Canon 5D2 with a Canon 24-105 lens. The literature didn't say it could carry the 100-400 but as it was similar size to the 70-200 I risked the purchase and was glad to find it accomodated the 100-400 admirably.
I have used it with the carrying strap provided and with a belt - I much prefer using it on my belt as the weight of the 1D and the 100-400 zoom lens is carried on my hips rather than my shoulder. I found the shoulder strap uncomfortable with the weight after an hour or so, but with the belt I could go all day and I could have other lenses strapped to it too!
The belt loop seems rather large but didn't affect the way the case carried on it. There is also a loop on one side to add an additional item - Put a lens on one day and used the strap rather than the belt - it didn't carry at all well tending to hang awkwardly - probably okay for a small case with filters or phone, possibly a flash gun, but definitely not for a lens.
There are two good pockets on the outside of the bag, the top is great for filters and the side for memory cards and phone. They both ahve the elasticated net holders for additional security. The side zip in my opinion is wrong for a field bag in that it goes down too far and if left open you could lose anything which wasn't in the inner elasticated compartment - Other than that, brilliant!

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

This is a good cover with some very nice design features. The d-rings are very sturdy and offer a high level of confidence when in use. A real highlight is the design of the shoulder strap and the included waist strap.

The two parts to the strap give a comfortable point to carry the weight and the additional strap to wrap around your waist stops it rolling around whilst you walk. (I actually use this strap on my other packs since it is so well designed)

The only downside is the placement of a webbing pocket on one side of the case. I would have preferred another sliplock point (as is provide on the Non-pro TopLoader Zoom 55AW) to allow me to decide what I want to attach. This is not a problem if the case is used with a belt but it would have been good to be given the choice. (This loses the 5th star)

The rain cover has the ability to still allow access to the main compartment but doesn't allow access to the sliplock point. I don't know what they expect you to do with any case you have attached. Maybe the webbing pocket can be used to carry a plastic bag......

Overall it is a capable bag and I have used it to easily carry a Canon 7D with a 100-400mm L lens and an attached case with a 17-55mm. There is also plenty of room in the front pocket for a 580EXII flash (without it's standard cover).

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

It's true, this case does hold my DSLR with its grip and a 70-200mm zoom lens. In addition, the various pockets comfortably hold the spare batteries, memory cards, filters, remote shutter cable and other little things I like to carry with the camera. Also it can be worn as a shoulder-bag or it can be worn on a belt. A Lowepro lens case can be securely attached to one side of the Toploader, though the whole ensemble then becomes a bit bulky.

This case gives my camera the protection it needs with any lens I own attached - I'm very pleased with it.

            A Great Quality Product

            By anoldpup

            from Gloucestershire, UK

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

You know with Lowepro you are going to get great quality products. I'm a huge fan of the brand and its a brand I trust. For my money, this bag is no exception.

I purchased this bag as I wanted the option of taking a smaller bag out with me on days where 1 lens was all I needed. It quite comfortably holds my camera body, including attached battery grip, along with either my 24 - 70mm 2.8f lens or my 70 - 200mm 2.8f lens. It does come with removalable padded inserts if you wanted to have a smaller lens attached & carry another smaller lens.

The zips & pockets are all easy to use & access. To give you some idea of the pocket size, the top pocket can hold my purse & mobile phone, along with a couple of memory cards. The front pocket can hold a couple of filters in their cases & a filter holder.

The top of the bag can be secured with either a zip, or with the clasp. I tend to use the clasp as much as possible as it allows quick, easy access to my camera.

There are no doubts it's easy to use, has great build quality & provides the kind of protection for your camera that you expect from Lowepro.

The only slight negative for me is the shoulder strap. If placed on one shoulder it has a tendancy to slip from a waterproof jacket as it doesn't quite grip enough. As a result I wear it across my body, which for a woman carrying a 4kg camera & lens can be a little uncomfortable on long days.

That said it's still a great camera bag!

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW - Black:

This Bag, what a life saver, it made my recent holiday trip to Egypt a breeze. Above all i was so happy I could take my 70-200mm lens with me knowing it was protected. the camera with a battery grip and lens (no hood) fit snuggly in the bag.

Very good buy and I think the only one for that lens and configuration.

It would have been nicer a litter cheaper though but still it was worth it.

Much better than carrying a rucksack in 30degree heat.
