The Ultrasoft enlarges and redirects the light at a 90° angle from the flash and then further softens the light by passing it through a frosted diffuser. This achieves an extremely soft look with minimal shadows. For use on an individual flash or to softly illuminate the background in a multiple flash setup. Ideal for close-ups and portraits.

The Big Bounce is still the best solution I have found for portable use of on board flash. It's great for portraits, eg bridal portraits in bright sunlight (balancing the light). The large size means that I can't use it for event/party photography as I bump it into people and it unbalances the camera (if you allow the camera to rest down on it's strap the BB sticks out/falls forward 45cm from my stomach on my 7D which makes it difficult to walk around)However, in terms of the performance, this product can't be criticised. It allows a flash to be fired directly into a subject's face with excellent results.You can see one of my original test shots here[@]

Using it is easy. Strap onto your flash gun and you're ready to go. It increases the size of the light source and helps to get a softer light. Use it when there isn't a softbox or umbrella around or not feasible to use.

This is a great way of getting bigger softer light out of your flashgun that is still portable. It is great for use on location where you can't set up stands and where you don't have an assistant who can hold diffusers. Simply strap it on and get the flash off camera and you are away - soft yet directional light. Brilliant!
