Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

I travel a lot and have to carry the tripod in my hand when climbing or walking and the weight of this tripod is a bliss. Carbon fibre does make a difference . Changing the vertical column to horizontal position is quick and easy . Good for macro work and also helps to get very low to the ground. This is a recent purchase and have not used it for long. If I find any difficulties I will report them here again.

Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

This is my first Tripod and it could potentially be my last if I don't break it being clumsy.
It seems to cope very well with whatever I need it to do and with a max load of 8kg I am unlikely to ever overload it. Brilliant I can't fault it not even on price.

Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

Upgrading from the metal 55 Pro to something a little lighter, sturdier and taller it's easy to compare side by side, the hinges are a chunkier affair (this is a good thing) and it's taller (has 4 instead of 3 section legs)when extended out which means for a slightly broader range of perspective when shooting and less hunching for a tall bloke like me. Being carbon it's a little lighter to haul around and also a little more compact when folded up as well. Haven't been disappointed with my older Manf and this looks a little better all round. [...]

Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

I've tried a couple of other tripods, including a Velbon and the 3 stage version of this one (which I was very impressed with). I took the plunge and bought this as my main tripod because I wanted all the features of the 055CXPRO3 but in something that packed up smaller.

What a great tripod: its sturdy and stable (which I wasn't really expecting quite how much), light, very quick to set up and put away, has perfect height for me (I'm 6ft and its higher than me with the extension out) and with the advantage of being smaller to pack away. It actually feels lighter than the PRO3 version and lighter than I was expecting.

I bought the 80mm Manfrotto bag to go with it. Its a bit too big for the tripod on its own but with the head attached its perfect and that suits me as I like to take it already set up. You an still cram a lightweight coat and some other bits around the tripod in the carry bag. The head adds noticeably more to the overall weight but the tripod itself is very light.

I can fit this one on my camera bag and it doesn't get in the way (unlike the PRO3).

Great tripod and thoroughly recommended. I spent ages researching and I got everything I wanted. You just know when something is right. OK, its a tad expensive but 'buy nice or buy twice' and you really won't regret it with this one. I showed it to a friend who has the PRO3 and he wished he'd got this one instead.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

A great tripod and worth the money. At first use the Q90 vertical to horizontal function looked as if it was pulling the top of the tripod apart, but it does all work well and provides access for tight spots.

Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

A very well engineered tripod that performs extremely well also. Made from carbon fibre I expected it to be somewhat lighter but instead got what I would describe as a "sturdy feeling" that suggests a robust and purposeful character.
This tripod provides a very sturdy platform even with four sections. I believe the four sections offer increased options when on an uneven surface.

I purchased the 055CXPRO4 to travel abroad with. It was perfect for getting inside my suitcase with a 300N Panoramic head and a ball head attached. The item may seem a little pricey, but as you know carbon fibre never comes cheap (Speak to any Formula 1 team). I have always used Manfrotto kit and have never been disappointed. This tripod is certainly no exception

Comments about Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod:

I have bought this as a replacement to my Benbo Trekker which has served me well over so many years of faithful service.

I was looking for a tripod that would have to live up to the flexibility of the Benbo yet be light in weight and very sturdy. I do a lot of long exposure daylight shots at the coast and in urban settings.

The build quality is superb with everything feeling solid and it's easy to operate. With a hook to hang your camera bag on for extra stabilisation if needed, a solid loop to attach a carrying strap and a nut key to tighten any of the nuts in the leg releases which clips to any of the legs.

I would highly recommend the 055CXPRO3 to anyone who needs a flexible, light weight and very sturdy tripod that can be relied on in any situation.
