Newly redesigned, the Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod makes the famous Manfrotto–patented horizontal centre column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved. More

Ready steady go.
About Me Semi-Professional
Steady. Combined with geared head Keeps yourcamera where it should be. Well made.
Does what it says on the tin.

I needed a tripod that was strong enough to handle a D800 with grip and a zoom lens but wasn't overly expensive and although it isn't the lightest or most compact it ticks the right boxes for me.
Good product, was recommended to me by a professional, I thought it a bit expensive at first, but now well worth the investment. surprised for the money it didnt come with a bag. only downside, I trapped my finger when closing the legs down, be careful.

Not perfect, but excellent for the price
from Irvine, Scotland
After lugging an old 2nd hand Benbo tripod up hills for almost two years, I wanted something lighter but still capable of supporting my camera well on all kinds of terrain. And.. it had to be cheap! After much study I decided to give the 190XPROB a try, and two months on I'm generally very happy with it. It's quick to set up, remarkably configurable and so light compared to my Benbo that I can mount it to the top of my rucksack and forget it's there. In still conditions it'll produce rock steady shots so long as you allow a few seconds settling time after adjusting the camera. It comes unstuck a little when fully extended (or with the central column set horizontal) if there's a decent breeze blowing, but at this price there are going to be compromises. All in all, it's excellent for the money.
Solid Tripod - It's awesome

About Me Professional
It's solid. Period.I use mine with the Manfrotto 460MG 3-Way Magnesium Head and it's simply awesome.I was recently on a shoot in Sri Lanka and was loaned a Vangaurd, carbon fibre....'thing'. OK, it's light and it's compact as hell, but when it comes to holding the Canon 70-200 IS f2.8L with the 5dmkii with battery grip, it was shaky and awkward as hell to use. The Manfrotto is the total opposite of this.It holds up against rivers, models (ha!) tantrums sand and snow. I don't work for them, but if I did, I'd be very proud and happy in my job knowing I'm providing a product which is solid.Get one, you won't regret it.JohnNeed[@]

Really good, affordable tripod.
By Carl S60
I finally succumbed to the Manfrotto brand after successfully using Red Snapper products. Now I can see what I've been missing out on.
Good tripod, best price
Good tripod....very compact and mobile....not much difference from 055PRO...less weight and a bit less in height....I would hv been glad if it was provided with a bag too, so 4 star
Bang on - simple and easy to use
This tripod is relatively light, fairly compact but not as compact as some of the other travel tripods. However, this is a lot more versatile and is simple to use. It is able to take a fairly heavy head, camera and lens, up to 5kg overall. It is easily adjustable and locks in tight within seconds. The centre column can be adjusted vertically and horizontally (which is great for macro shots). It comes with a bubble spirit level which is useful if your tripod head does not come with one. Overall I am very pleased with it, and is money well spent - and saved over expensive carbon fibre alternatives.
I have a couple of these now and I love them, they are very versatile and quite sturdy. I have the carbon fibre version as well but this has a bit more stability without seeming to add a whole lot of weight.I use these to attach my camcorder on for bench recording and the "Manfrotto–patented horizontal centre column" means I don't have to reach round anything and I use these to put speedlights in places lighting stands have issues with. All round, this is a great little tripod, add the 804RC2 head and you have a great combo for under £140.
