The Metz LED-480 Mecalight LED Light is designed to slide onto the hot shoe of your camera or camcorder and illuminate your subject. The mecalight LED-480 LED video light has 72 High CRI LEDs (LEDs with a high colour rendering index) and provides illuminance of 480 Lux. The light output from the mecalight LED-480 can be individually and continuously regulated from 0-100% as required using a dimming wheel on the back of the device. The mecalight LED-480 can also be modularly adapted to the mecalight LED-160 in any combination desired. This allows illuminance to be increased correspondingly. The LED-480 takes four AA batteries or rechargeable batteries. Included is the operating instructions, diffuser filter and artificial light filter (3200K) which attach magnetically to the light. More
Flexibility in every scene
Creative lighting control is often required for video production. The mecalight Flex Arm FH-100 lends itself perfectly to such use. The FH-100 is bendable, which allows the mecalight LED video light to be optimally positioned. This is ideal for macro shots as it allows the subject to be particularly well lit from different angles. The Flex Arm FH-100 is sold as a separate accessory and joins two mecalight LED video lights together.
Diffuse light for every scene
The colour temperature of the mecalight LED video lights LED-480, LED-320 and LED-160 is 5600 Kelvin. In order to provide flexible illuminance for various types of shots, a 3200K artificial light filter and a diffuser filter are also available with the LED lights. These ensure particularly soft and harmonious lighting. The filters can be quickly and easily attached to the LED video lights using magnet holders.
More than enough light for every scene
The mecalight LED-480 LED video light has 72 High CRI LEDs (LEDs with a high colour rendering index) and provides illuminance of 480 Lux. The LED- 320, with its 48 High CRI LEDs, provides illuminance of 320 Lux and the small LED-160 has 24 High CRI LEDs and an illuminance value of 160 Lux. The light output from the mecalight LED-480 and LED-320 can be individually and continuously regulated from 0-100% as required using a dimming wheel on the back of the device. The mecalight LED-480 and LED-320 can be modularly adapted to the mecalight LED-160 in any combination desired. This allows illuminance to be increased correspondingly. The power supply is provided by four AA batteries or rechargeable batteries for the LED-480, four AAA batteries or rechargeable batteries for the LED-320 and two AAA batteries or rechargeable batteries for the LED-160.
A happy ending for every scene
Modern camcorders and the new DSLR and system cameras increasingly have a Full-HD video function, affording numerous new and exciting application possibilities for amateur film makers. However, it also means an increase in the demands placed on illumination. With Metz mecalight, the new LED video lighting range, you can light up every scene to perfection.

About Me Professional
I was shooting a feature recently deep down inside the second deepest potash mine in Europe and I needed a light source that would be lightweight, powerful enough to light up a 3 or 4 metre area, was resistant to dust/splashes and was robust enough to take a few bangs and bumps along the way. I needed something that I could work with quickly and easily and importantly that I could operate with one hand if needed. So after having a look around this light seemed to meet my requirements. It performed very well indeed and took everything that was thrown at it. Within a few minutes of being used for the first time it went from been covered in thick dust to then been splashed in water. It provided a nice source of light for portraits and with the CTO fitted (...the magnetic way of attaching them is genius by the way) it created a lovely colour of light that worked well with other light sources. If I had any changes to make I would maybe have it in a rubberized body just to protect it from any harder impacts and harsher conditions and also have the means to fasten a lanyard to it. On this particular job where I had to travel very light with just a couple of pouches for my kit this would have been very useful to carry it.It can be held and used with one hand whilst the other hand uses the camera which is great in small confined places. The light can be adjusted very quickly with the control wheel and the whole thing is generally quick and easy to use. So if you need good quality light that has to be set up quickly and which is flexible for different uses and which offers something different where a flash might be practical...then take a look at this and see if it might work for you.
A bright and convenient light source
I have found a pair of these useful for product photography when working with small objects. Fitting a couple of cheap table-top tripods allows you plenty of choice in a restricted space. Probably even more useful with a clamp and gooseneck support.
A simple solution to lighting
A good and cheap way of providing video lighting with both DSLR and Camcorder systems. Can be linked to other panels to create a three-panel source to put even more light in your scenes. The intensity is set with a really simple knob on the back which allows continuous variation of the light output. No obvious hotspot and the diffuser and filter (supplied) simply clip on and off with magnets. You can also use gels carefully attached to the plain diffuser to create your own effects.Range is good and when compared to the costs that some camcorder manufacturers charge for what is basically a torch, this is a much better option as well as being half the price.I use mine with both my DSLR cameras and Camcorders. great little gadget for your kit bag.
