Extreme wideangle, fast aperture lens with a revolutionary optical design. This remarkable professional lens features a Nano Crystal coating to reduce the effects of ghost and flare, and delivers edge-to-corner sharpness that can surpass that of equivalent fixed focal-length lenses. Features an integral lens hood. The Silent Wave Motor (SWM) feature provides swift autofocus with superior accuracy and ultra-quiet operation. This G-type lens does not feature an aperture ring on the lens body, resulting in a lighter and more compact lens. Aperture changes are designed to be done via the camera's command dial. More

Comments about Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 G AF-S ED Lens:
This is a lens that would not suit anybody. I think you need to have a specific requirement to use one for instance, interiors or any particular type of creative viewpoint and exageration of perspective. Landscape pictures can be great fun.I have had to learn to use the lens to my advantage and style. Lovely optics and pin sharp from edge to edge with no frilling.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 G
I am an professional asina wedding photographer. From the day i bought Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 g, it has be one the best kit lens for me.amazing picture quality, sharp. picture taken with this lens been highly rated from customer.mostly use this during pre-shoot and on the dance floor.
Excellent lens highly recommend!
Well balanced and of solid construction. Excellent on the horizontal and vertical lines, a pleasure to work with. A slight weight but no different to other professional lenses. Filter option not missed, exceptional optics in a class of their own. Other Nikon options compared and considered after reviews. Purchased as part of the trilogy pro lens, 24 - 70 and 70 - 200mm VR II. Used with D800 FX format. Highly recommend.
Just simply AWESOME
This lens is not for everyone, it's not the easiest to use, however... if you know how you're going to use it, it is mind blowing how awesome this lens is. even in low light as a portrait lens in a pub or as the usual portrait lens. The 110 degrees of awesomeness means its quite tricky to control everything in view... but you already knew this.

I'm currently using this lens on DX Nikon bodies as I wanted a lens a little wider than my current 17 -55 2.8, this lens fits the bill nicely and I have found that this has almost become my standard lens. Ultra fast AF, fantastic edge to edge sharpness and a dream to use, surely a classic.
Powerful images, sharp and great colour

Brilliant for ultra wide but not ideal for general portraits and walk about lens. Very sharp, great saturation and reasonable flare. No filter attachment but Lee have a pro filter solution for this lens.

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
It has all been said - fast f2.8, razor sharp, fast autofocus, superb build quality. Part of the Nikon "triple" (24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8) and worth every single penny.

I have owned this lens for nearly two years now & i am consistently impressed with the contrast, sharpness & relatively distortion free output from this lens ,coming from a canon 5d with 17 40 to this on a d700 was a big shock .if you are a casual user of wide angle get the 16 35 instead as this is not an easy lens to use,so takes time to get the best out of.but if perfection is what you ultimately strive for then this is it.The weight of the lens is considerable but this balances very well on the body and feels less front heavy than the 24 70 .focus speed is 5* & everything is in focus by f4
Nikon at it's best
