I thought long and hard before buying this lens, which I had rented from time to time. It was a great decision. I have used it much more than anticpated, and it gives abolutely AAA quality. But do note than a good solid tripod and a gimbal head are essential to get the very best out of it. Virtually faultless.

Already owning the Nikon 300mm f2.8 VR I was hoping the 600mm f4 VR would perform just as well. I wasn't disappointed, the image quality is just outstanding and the build quality is what you expect from Nikon. Its not light so hand holding is pretty much out but when used with a monopod or gimbal head it handles just fine. I use mine with a Nikon D3 and can't imagine having a better setup.
