The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G ED VR II lens offers re-designed optics for exceptional image quality and increased Vibration Reduction capability. The VRII technology enables photographers to shoot at shutter speeds up to four stops slower than would otherwise be possible (as determined by Nikon performance tests). The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G ED VR II lens can be used in one of two modes: Normal for everyday shooting and Active, which minimises the vibration experienced when shooting aircraft for example. Both the Normal and the Active modes offer a stable viewfinder image, essential for making focus point acquisition and framing far more comfortable and precise.  More

Nikon 70-200mm AF-S Nikkor f2.8G ED VR II Lens Further Details

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G ED VR II Lens

The new lens delivers corner to corner quality on FX cameras and the Nikon exclusive anti-reflection Nano Crystal coat, together with seven ED glass elements minimises internal reflections and aberrations, ultimately producing rich, high contrast images, no matter what lighting conditions you are shooting in.

There are three focus modes on the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G ED VR II Lens; A/M; M/A and M. The new A/M switch enables autofocus priority even if the focus ring is being handled during shooting.

The newly designed optics of the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G ED VR II lens allow shorter dimensions than the current version and don't compromise on the necessary durability. This lens is housed in a tough magnesium body and is extensively sealed to withstand the affects of dust, dirt and moisture.

Comments about Nikon 70-200mm AF-S Nikkor f2.8G ED VR II Lens:

Best purchase I've made for my business. I have wanted this lense for the last two years and finally "bit the bullet" and bought one. It may seem expensive but the image and build quality is second to none and it is a lense I use all the time. Second hand these lenses still fetch around £1300 so even if you did need to sell it you would not lose much value.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Nikon 70-200mm AF-S Nikkor f2.8G ED VR II Lens:

Painfully sharp lens at any aperture - perfect first lens?..yep spend all you have on this lens and you can upgrade your Nikon body as many times as you like. You will never need to buy another 70-200 again.

Needed a little fine tuning on the auto focus but once its done ...stunning performance. The Nikon body will remember the lens.

Stabilisation works a dream for those no tripod, no strobe, low light must have shots.

      Reassuringly heavy, I like that

Perfect for portraits and although short for wildlife a little zooming and cropping post can still produce awesome results. See attached cropped image and crop ratio.

Auto focus fast and tenacious using 51 point 3D tracking

I thought about buying this lens for a long time, but am very happy i made the choice. We have been on a family holiday to Tanzania and got some great images attached to a D800 body.

In good light the images are absolutely stunning - great colour and sharp. Any poor images were down to the photographer not the lens I'm sure.
