After purchasing a few of the more cheaper items over the years, it was all false economy. They all seemed to let you down at one stage or another. Bought this item and it performs brilliant. Use it on my D300, can be a bit fiddly to screw into camera, I found it best to remove both rubber covers and move them up out of the way.

Great piece of kit

Very useful when using a tripod and you don't want to touch the camera in case you cause vibration. Also great when doing single or group portraits, you can stand up and talk to your subject rather that be bent down looking through the viewfinder.

I also use on wildlife, first having set the camera on a particular spot I can then wait in comfort for my subject to appear and then gotcha! without having to use the view finder again.
