The Nikon Nikon ML-3 Remote Control Kit includes the ML-3 Remote Transmitter and Receiver plus a Nikon leather carry case. This combination allows Nikon cameras with a ten-pin remote terminal (such as the D3, D700, D300 and D200) to be triggered remotely. The Nikon ML-3 Reciever mounts on the camera's hotshoe and the cable plugs in to the 10 pin remote socket. The Nikon ML-3 Transmitter offers remote control for two separate channels via an infrared beam, enabling automatic camera operation from a distance of up to appoximately 8m.

Comments about Nikon ML-3 Remote Control Set:

I decided to get one of these as i tend to do a lot of self portraits and group shots. I had been putting up with the Nikon MC-36 Remote Control (wired) but i've had a few frustrating instances where i got the perfect capture, but you could see the lead in a part of it! Grrrr.

Yes this is a lot of money for i guess a couple bits of plastic, but the ease of use and wire-free operation can save you alot of agro and time, so it cancels itself out i think - but i still think it should be reduced under the £200 mark.
The build quality is good, even thought they are both made from plastic. The sensor screws onto the camera body where the flash would normally go and once tightened, you are still able to rotate the sensor to point towards you. I also have the Nikon MC-21 Cord 10 Pin Extension Cable which means i can extend the sensor around corners if needed which is very handy.

The remote requires two AA batteries.
