I bought this lens about six months ago and was verydisappointed with the performance of the auto-focus at wide apertures. It tended to hunt and then expose when not properly focussed with my E3 so I have not used it much, even thought the images produced (with manual over-ride) were startling - very crisp right across the frame with no distortion- on a par with the excellent 35 - 100 F2 I already own and far better than the 50 mm macro.

I am over the moon. The problem was not with the lens it was with the E3; Now the 1.3 firmware for the E3 has been released the problem is fixed and I can, and I do, use it as my prime lens and get consistently excellent results.
