Close-up shooting capability is also superb, with a minimum shooting distance of just 3.9' (1.2 m) throughout the zoom range.

I bought my Olympus E3 with a 12-60mm SWD lens and rate that combo as awesome! The auto focus is just so fast, and the clarity of the lens is unbeatable. I have just added the 50-200mm SWD lens, and cannot complement this lens highly enough. It's so capable and inspiring. It's not as heavy as i thought it would be, in fact it's quite portable. The E3 IS system is more than enough not to need a tripod! I've only had this lens for a month, and would highly recommend it. It isn't cheap, but when you see the results, you'll know you made the right choice. An investment you won't regret!

i have had just had this les for the last two days now and i have been playing with it lot and lot and wot i have found with it that is it is brillent
the pictures are so full of detale it is one for the sharpist lens i have ever used if not the most i have ever used. and it realy help it being very weather proof i was using it in heavy rain and no problems i use this lens with the e3 witch is very good as well wih this len because of the speed of the auto focus the lens can give with this lens and body.
the only problem with the les is that it can get a little heavy after caryig it around for a while but it had a grip on he lens so i put a mono pod in there and it work all so as a walkig stick so it not eavy at all like that but more bulky.
