This cable release is well made and the cable is a good length. It works perfectly with my OM-D E-M5 and performs as expected.

It is expensive for what it does, which is why it only gets a 4 star rating from me. There are cheaper off-brand alternatives available but you can be confident the proper Olympus item will work perfectly every time.

A cable release is a must for anyone attempting quality landscape photography as well as HDR. If the camera shakes you lose your front to back focus and the landscape can be ruined. I'm not sure why Olympus make their cable releases so expensive, because after all it is just a button, but you need it!

I bought a third party release for my camera and it was a fraction of the price, but it was very fiddley and it broke. So I had to shell out for the Olympus one, so it cost me even more in the end. Don't make the same mistake I did, buy this one first, it works every time and at low temperatures. The cable is a decent length and I've never needed it to be longer.
