The ES 80 GA ED/45° advances the tradition of quality and value with a new multi-coating system integrated into an all-new magnesium polycarbonate and aluminium body. Now 100% nitrogen waterproof, the fully rubber armoured body houses a high-grade ED (extra low dispersion glass) element within the objective lens system that virtually eliminates the distorting effects of chromatic aberration at magnifications over 35x. As a result, images are vibrant and 'true to life' and what's more - reproduced consistently across the magnification range. The model is most often seen with HDF eyepieces 20-60x and 32xWW.

Comments about Opticron ES 80 GA ED Angled Spotting Scope (v3):

Upgraded from a GS80 and have to say it was a good move. You get a very sharp image out of this scope in conjunction with the HDF 20-60x zoom eyepiece and a scope you can comfortably use all day. The focusing ring is a little slow in operation compared to some scopes but it does ensure it's easy to get the correct focus, even if you're a bit heavy handed A real advantage of this scope is the excellent aftersales service you get from Opticron. I've sent the GS and a pair of Discovery bins back for repair and they've both been back within the week, the bins with no charge. Bonus!OK, this is no Leica but at a quarter of the price of the former is the image only a quarter as good? Not in the least. Apart from a very small amount of colour fringe in very high contrast situations this scope produces an image that is only marginally less than the high end scopes produce.If you're in the market for a reasonably priced scope with a guaranteed quality aftersales service look no further than this one.
