I wanted a cheap entry into video lighting for Wedding Photography. There are better know names out there and more powerful systems - but I wanted to prove the concept before shelling out 4 times the price.

The system is fairly small an efficient and reasonably well built. The battery life is good.

It comes with the diffuser and daylight filter. I though the daylight filter would be more useful than it's proved to be so far - I actually prefer the warmer tones of the light without it.

Its not very powerful - but that said it's bright enough to cause the subject to squint if used badly. If I had bought it to actually light a shoot I would probably be disappointed. I actually bought it for situations were I have enough light - just not necessarily in the right place. Using it for example to add some light to a brides face where flash would be inappropriate and it works fine.

It has a (limited) spot / flood adjuster which works OK.

Overall for the money it's not a bad piece of kit - but it has limitations.

Although the PAGlight is easy to set up, the hot-shoe mount is not ideal and never seems to tighten fully. The cable is a bit heavy, so you find that when adjusting the lamp it often swings round and points in the wrong direction. The 20Watt bulb that is supplied is best replaced with the 30Watt one - fitting it is easy, but the recommendation of having a bulb holder for each wattage of bulb is a little too expensive to consider. On the whole this is an excellent addition to the kit bag.

Although I've owned this item for over 12 months, I've only used it about four or five times lighting short video sequences on an otherwise stills camera, the Lumix DMC-FZ20. So long as you respect its capabilities, you shouldn't be disapointed. It's not designed, and nor was it purchased, for use on its own in an outdoor situation at night. But do not mount it on the hot shoe or it will automatically set the shutter speed to the flash speed of 1/60 second. I may use it more this winter with a few indoor events planned.

As a professional filmmaker, I have been through many onboard lights, but the Pag C6 is in another league to everything else I have tried.

The unit is sturdy, versatile and ergonomic. The accessory kit which contains barn doors, a daylight filter and a diffuser, means it is quick and easy to correct spill or colour temperature problems.

There is a clever quick change bulb facility allowing the user to easily switch to bulbs of varying output, so with this feature and the diffuser to hand, there's no need for a dimmer function.

The battery is quite big and heavy but offers excellent life and actually acts as a perfect counterweight for my camera!

Definitely pro kit and worth the money.
