Glad that I bought it!

Comments about Panasonic DMW-LT55E 55mm Tele Conversion Lens:
I bought the conversion lens for shooting birds and other wildlife as the existing zoom on my FZ200 didn't quite get close enough for the subjects that I wanted to photograph. So far I have been very pleased with the results. Particularly when I went seeking red squirrels at Formby recently only to find them in the tree tops and over a hundred feet away. The results don't show that this is a conversion lens
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent addition to a very good camera
By An ardent AW fan
Used with the Panasonic DMW-LA7 adapter it made an excellent addition to the Lumix FZ200 bridge camera. The FZ 200 has the benefit of a 600mm telephoto used alone plus the 2.8 aperture throughout. This telephoto converter increases the zoom to by a factor of 1.7 to just over 1000mm and gives results better than any add-on I have seen. It may not match the professional lenses for DLSR but then it comes at a fraction of the cost and gives good results. The lack of a lens hood to fit is a shame, you have to resort to DIY as far as I can see and it is a little cumbersome to connect the lens to the adapter and then to the camera. However excellent value for money and unless you intend to make money out of wildlife close-ups it would be hard to better. I remember using a x2 converter on the front of on old film SLR lens that gave much poorer results.
