3 Year Warranty - See Further Details. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200 Black Digital Camera is a super-zoom all-in-one camera for enthusiasts who want similar functions of a Digital SLR but without the extra bulk and additional lenses. The improved 12-megapixel high-sensitivity MOS sensor, Venus Engine and ISO sensitivity up to ISO 6400 reduces noise in dimly lit environments and offers superb low-light performance. The 25-600mm 24x super-zoom is accompanied with a constant F2.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation technology POWER O.I.S. which combined will give you crisp, blur-free zoom shots throughout the entire zoom range. With the above technology combined the FZ200 can record stunning 1080p 50p Full HD video and capture stills at 12fps in full resolution. Other features include full manual control, a variety of creative modes, a 3” free-angle LCD screen and a newly developed EVF (Electronic Viewfinder). More

The 12.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor and the Venus Engine elevate the response, sensitivity and image quality of the DMC-FZ200 even to the higher level. The High Sensitivity MOS sensor boasts excellent S/N ratio resulting in super clear image with less noise even in high sensitivity recording. Intelligent Noise Reduction system and Multi-process Noise Reduction system are also available to reduce noise and render dramatically clear images even in low-lit situation.
The 12.1-megapixel MOS sensor enables 12 fps high speed burst shooting in full resolution with mechanical shutter. It also contributes to the Light Speed AF. It is absolutely brilliant at taking pictures with the auto white balance, in that it gave the true white of the snow even though 90% of the picture was snow. The only criticism I can think of is that I thought I had taken pictures of the 8 inch icicles hanging from the boards outside the bedroom window but the camera had in fact focussed on trees branches which were about 10 yards beyond but I did not realise this at the time. My fault but it happened, so i'm pointing out that care has to be taken and nothing can be taken for granted, everything else is so fault less that I got into a taking for granted frame of mind.

The FZ200 is quick to start up and AF is also fast as claimed. The zoom though is jerky and difficult to control. That would be my only gripe.

All singing all dancing
I have two SLR's, two DSLR's and a high quality compact (Panasonic DMC LX3)and for my travel needs, I really wanted to ease up on all the luggage carrying. I wanted an 'all in one' alternative (must have a usable eye viewfinder) and, having studied all the available bridge camera options (and UK and US reviews of them), I settled on the Panasonic Lumix FZ200. I have not been disappointed. Panasonic never cease to impress me with their quality, design innovation and reliablilty and this camera would appear to well up to the mark. Their may be a little lack of image quality due to the small size of the sensor but none that matters significantly as far as my own needs are concerned. Well pleased with my purchase.

This camera was recommended to me as an alternative to carrying around all my DSLR kit. On paper it promises to deliver great features and quality but not all is as Panasonic advertise unfortunately:The 12M sensor reads great - was excited to have a small pocket camera that claimed to deliver A2 enlargements but 12M is only available in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Most camera photographic in 3:2 aspect ration which means you can only have a 10.5M sensor. The camera is really light, actually for me a little too light and it makes holding it still hard for me. However, I cannot complain about the features this camera delivers for the size and weight and for most people I am sure the weight will not be an issue.I am however very impressed at the range of features this has that are normally only on DSLR's, full control including a full manual and exposure compensation options is awesome. I have had this camera for one day and so far I have had mixed results but I will keep working on it and may update the review later.

I bought the FZ200 for my daughter and it is now on holiday with her in Thailand . However I did get chance to do some test shots and it is quite impressive....That lens!...sharp across the whole frame at F2.8 from 25 to 500mm ,at 600 mm it is still more than acceptable but stopping down to F3.2 and the sharpness and IQ is amazing , I did not try the video mode but I would imagine this to be just as good. The EVF is excellent and an improvement on the previous FZ offerings. All in all a superb piece of kit with excellent image quality for a small sensor , it will never better an APS slr but comes very close and lets be honest what would a 600mm F2.8 lens to fit Nikon or Canon cost ??
