Great light lens , Mage quality is superb sharp all the way across the lens

Great for low light shots and can get quite close so you can get some good close ups on flowers

Can't find anything wrong it's just a good lens and the price is good too

Indoor portraits without needing flash excellent. Outdoor flowers and insects in shade very useful.

I needed a fast'ish lens (on a budget) for a recent wedding so I gave this a go. On my K-5 it focuses very fast but also with a lot of noise which is usually fine but not ideal for a wedding - The build quality isn't fantastic, that said it is not likely to fall apart any time soon either. Image quality however was pleasing, quite sharp at f/2.4 and very sharp by f/4.0 - Overall I think this lens is good for the price. Shame thou that Pentax don't do a lens similar to the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 in the same price range

Bought this lens to go on my Pentax K-X to take pics of our Newborn Daughter. So pleased with it, we have some fantastic pictures of our little girl, although the kit lens produces good images, this lens is in a whole new league. I wondered if I was being a cheapskate with so many more expensive lenses to choose from but we are very happy with this choice, I haven't taken it off my camera yet!
