build and picture quality. very sharp. quick af. heavy, but i like heavy lenses. great action lens and very weather proof.the weather hoood is fantastic,rain never gets on the lens glass.superb.

One word, stellar

This lens is incredible the sharpness is impeccable hand held on a K7D
on a support it is like a 50mm

Its weather resistance is such a complete advantage, I was taking photos at a sporting event in a downpour the other day - it didn't matter to this lens - took it in its stride

I have since bought the 300 mm DA* again it is a stunning prime lens - faultless

I am a well travelled well accredited semi pro and after 30 years with Canon / Nikon I have crossed over to Pentax mainly after comparinhg a friends K20D shots with my Canons on a trip into the Amazon,

These lenses are just unbeleivable for the price and don't suffer from moisture, rain, condensation or humidity.

I am truly amazed and delighted with these lenses
Well done Pentax a quiet return to the class leading pro- standards of yesteryear
