The Pentax PF 65 EDA II Angled Spotting Scope features a lightweight and compact magnesium alloy body construction that is packed with a lens that uses extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements to ensure maximum resolution and minimum chromatic aberration. On off-road walking trails you’re often limited in the amount of equipment that you can carry over long distances. The one compromise you do not want to make is in viewing performance – the Pentax PF-65 range is the perfect answer. These spotting scopes were designed with light weight and compact specifications as a high priority. However, you can still expect the best, such as an ED objective lens, SMC lens coatings and a magnesium alloy body. The conveniently placed focusing wheel sits in the centre of the scope for easy reach and the durable rubber armoured body provides plenty of grip and maximum protection.   More

1.25 Inch Eyepiece Connector:
The large-sized 31.7mm (1.25 Inch) eyepiece connector will give you a serious advantage. This sizable connector allows you to use high-end eyepieces that provide clear, brighter and sharper (edge to edge) images. The large receptacle also provides you with a fundamentally more stable basis to use your spotting scope for photography.

Inner focusing:
The InnerFocus function is critical to low maintenance and long life guarantee. Expose to airborne particles and moisture is avoided, thereby ensuring that no out-side influences can penetrate the binocular housing and interrupt functionality.

Nitrogen purged:
Nitrogen is a colourless, odourless and tasteless chemical element. It contains little humidity and is therefore used to "purge" binoculars and spotting scopes of the high-humidity air that is part of our environment. Due to the low humidity factor, nitrogen prevents condensation from forming in the internal lenses of optical instruments during phases of rapid temperature change. Also, because nitrogen is purged into the optical instrument at slightly above atmospheric pressure, dust and other minuscule particles are prevented from entering the housing.

SMC multi layering lens coating:
The Pentax smc lens coating is renowned in the industry. Not only does this coating improve contrast and resolution - it also optimises light-transmission throughout the whole light spectrum, thereby allowing well-balances and colour correct image representation.

Functional high-tech design:
Pentax spotting scope are built from solid yet lightweight magnesium-alloy with full body rubber armouring. A built-in retractable lens shade cuts excessive light and protects against the weather elements, and standard on all scopes. No need to worry about the rain anyway, and the PF bodies are fully water-proof and nitrogen purged, to JIS 6 standards.

ED Objective with Lanthanum Lens Elements:
The ultimate challenge when building top optics is to reproduce the image free from colour errors. Several techniques are available but by far the best result can be achieved by using ED (or extra-low dispersion) glass in the objective lens, in combination with Lanthanum glass. ED-lenses have a high breaking index with minimal dispersion. All Pentax spotting scopes use ED-objective elements in combination with lanthanum glass.
