The Phottix Ares provides a simple way to use off-camera flash. The 8-channel transmitter and receiver units have a range of 200m and feature a “fire-all” channel function. No advanced bells or whistles - simple, reliable and affordable radio flash triggering engineered with Phottix durability and quality. What makes the Phottix Ares unique is the rotating transmitter (patents pending). The Ares accommodates how photographers want to work – with the transmitter upright for fast channels changes, or locked in the low-profile down position. With a hot shoe and 3.5mm sync port the Phottix Ares can be used to trigger hot shoe flashes and studio lights. Cables and adapters are included. Packed in a stylish carrying bag, the Ares uses readily available AA batteries. More

About Me Getting started
Comments about Phottix Ares Flash Trigger and Receiver Set:
Works really easy basically plug it into studio flash and attach to camera and you are ready to go! I bought the Interfit Ace 100w Flash Head Kit to use along with the trigger.

About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
I have only used the trigger/reciever for my water shots in-house and it works a treat! There does not seem to be any delay and this helped out with capturing the right shot! The on/off button could be a bit more larger but it is only a minor issue for me!Overall verdit is it is worth its weight in gold.

This relatively cheaply does the same job as a remote control shutter, but is more versatile. I doubt that a professional would find it robust enough, but for amateur use it looks good.
