Well made, though not quite well priced
About Me Hobbyist/Enthusiast
I bought this several months ago after deciding to get some portable, but soft and flattering lighting. This appeared to be exactly what I was loking for. It's small and light, thus is very convenient, and due to it's rubber coating, it feels quite sturdy and well designed, which is all the more impressive given that it can be dismantled with ease. (I don't think it would fair too well being dropped though, it isn't quite that sturdy). It takes 3 triple A batteries, an odd number but at least they're widely available, and is supplied with several colour temperature filters, including a diffusion filter for even softer output. These work very well. However, and this is down mainly to my own expectations, given the price paid I expected a little more equipment, and light than i actually got. Unless you look up its dimensions and actually check a ruler, which i didnt, it's probably a bit smaller than you're thinking. Also it isn't supplied with a means to attach to your hotshoe, the stand for this must be purchased seperately. Lol and it's not cheap. In fact the handle to hold it by hand must be bought seperately too, so I'm not quite sure how they expect it to be deployed when by itself. But as long as you bear this in mind when you make the purchase, what equipment you do get is well made and easy to use. The light is also great for close up shots or low light portraiture. If a few extra (though necessary) accessories were supplied with it, or the price was dropped a bit, I'd likely have given it 5 stars.
