Comments about SanDisk Ultra II 16GB 100x Compact Flash:

30 mb/s (writing/downloading) might seem a little slow these days but this card is a good deal better value than similar cards with higher speeds, such as 60mb/s.

The card has the capacity for a couple of thousand fine jpegs for my full-frame Nikon D700 and the camera's inbuilt 'memory' buffer probably helps smooth out card writing during my occasional motor-drive bursts.

Nikon pro DSLRs are also remarkably finicky as to what cards they'll actually accept - so forget budget ones as the camera will simply flash up 'error' in protest.

So, get one from the respected standard; Sandisk. Get it from the outset so you won't have to learn the hard way.
