If you are keen on underwater photography then this makes a great gimmick to buy for some really quality photographs. The only hassle is that the DC1000 has a quick option to point and shoot during setup but it is a lot more tricky when you have the add on of this wide angle lens. Make sure you have an external flash to ensure you get the best pictures out of using the wide angle lens.
